I'm helping my sister look for a DJ for her March wedding in Houston. We want someone that can play some of the usual wedding music (Sinatra, etc.) but also some "cool" music like Hot Chit, Emmylou Harris, Chromeo, Griffin House, James Brown, etc. We really want to avoid an iPod reception. AND we're trying to keep it under $800 or so. AND he or she needs to be chill and understated. Any suggestions? (Or even suggestions for a reasonably priced chill DJ that can follow instructions well.) Thanks in advance!
We've worked with Retro DJ To Go. Mind you, this was a Sweet 16 party, so the playlist was totally different than a wedding, but they seemed to be really flexible and they knew what they were doing. Check them out.
You may want to look into Rock N Robin. He's been great to work with and was recommended to us by our photorgrapher. He has quite a number of DJ's in his company. www.rocknrobin.com
Try www.djbrothers.com Ask for either Joey or George to DJ your wedding. EMail Joey your wish list and you guys can work together to get the music that you want.
