Ok Bees, I need a little assistance. I’m trying to work on our playlist for all segments of the wedding. At this point, I think I have a pretty good handle on the stuff, and style I want for the reception and dinner, but I’m having a little trouble with the pre-ceremony and ceremony.
We are planning on having some instrumentals playing as guest are arriving and being seated…but I don’t want the standard classical stuff…at least not all…
I am hoping that you all might be able to suggest some instrumental versions of more popular, but still pretty and peaceful, music. Any suggestions gladly appreciated 🙂
Also, have a little bit of trouble with my processional choice. I have no idea what to have the wedding party walk to. I have a pretty decent sized line 6 on each side, but there will also be my sister, and the grooms brother walking down ahead of the party to “seat” or mothers…I would like that to be included in the musical choice…unless someone has a brilliant idea of a song or reading that could be played just for that…
Since forever, I had envisioned walking down the aisle to Cannon in D…I LOVE that piece of music. But honestly, at this point, I’m not so set on it. I have heard a few songs that I think are amazing…1000 years by Christina Perri for one…I just want some more options… Again, any suggestions appreciated 😉

Check out the Piano Guys on YouTube. They are seriously AMAZING!! 🙂 My fiancé played cello growing up and really wanted classical music for our processionals/ceremony, but I really wanted something contemporary/instrumental pop type music, and the Piano Guys turned out to be the perfect fusion of both. They have instrumental versions of a lot of current pop songs, some of my faves are “Love Story (Taylor Swift) meets Viva la Vida (Coldplay)”, “What Makes You Beautiful” (One Direction), and “Home” (Phillip Phillips). Also my fiancé looked up a Pandora station based on the Piano Guys and said there were quite a few other artists who do similar type of music.
Good luck! 🙂

If you like Canon in D, you should listen to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okvcXP8TEkA. It was the processional for my wedding, and I love it! It’s “Seasons” by Charles Fox, inspired by Canon in D.
As far as instrumental songs for before the ceremony, I love different versions of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, like these ones:
I know that second one has vocals, but it’s so pretty. And this might not be your style at all, but I love Disney instrumental songs, like this one:

I recommend Helen Jane Long. She has some beautiful pieces. Our bridal party and I walked down to Expressions. I was hoping for Aviators, but the sheet music hadn’t come out yet.
