We do not have a wedding coordinator and are not hiring a DOC either, but the hotel where we are having our reception has an awesome catering manager who has helped us arrange and coordinate everything for the reception (food, drinks, setup, timing, dj reccomendation, etc.) We are already paying the hotel a 20% gratuity on our reception bill, but how much should we tip the catering manager aside from that? Thanks for your opinions!
If the catering manager is doing a bang-up job for you, $100-$300 would be really appreciated. Even though you're paying the 20% gratuity, it gets split up amongst the servers, etc. So any add'l amount to the point person is a nice touch.
I agree with SoCal.. the catering manager is probably not getting nearly the 20% of what she will be paid. That goes directly to the hotel, and I'm sure she will appreciate anything above and beyond the 20%... good luck!
I agree with the above. I actually don't think she/he gets any of the 20% (I could be wrong). My wedding coordinator told me a good range is $100-$200.
