A nice hot bath usually helps with any abdominal pain I have. It Soothes the pain while also helping me relax. What do you think is causing the pain?

I get kidney stones and I find that moving around keeps my mind off the pain more than laying down.  Also, really hot baths help as well.  Hope you feel better soon!

@AB Bride:  Sorry, I wasn’t trying to pry. I just know certain remedies for differing causes of abdominal pain. For instance, if you were having a gallbladder attack, drinking diluted apple cider vinegar can help. Have you taken any meds like IB profen?  That can help with inflammation, but shouldn’t be taken if you suspect an ulcer.

I’m inclined to say that if the pain is an 8 or greater on a scale of 1-10, you should probably get yourself to an urgent care center!

@AB Bride:  Nothing particularly clever; I would probably curl up in a ball on the couch with a blanket and a hot water bottle against my stomach… And seeing as I don’t have a hot water bottle, I’d probably just use a cushion instead. I would find any kind of warmth quite soothing.

I have chronic pain, in several areas. I also agree with a heating pad and a warm bath. I have plenty of different bath additives (bath salts, bubble bath, Lush stuff, etc) and a bath pillow. I bring some stupid magazines and try to just zone out. I have a body pillow that helps to try to be comfy in bed. When teh pain is bad, even with my pain meds it is difficult to find a way to lay in bed that isn’t bad. I will literally wake up crying from pain. Make sure you drink plenty of water – whether you get it from tea, water, etc. I make sure the temp in teh house is comfortable.
