Not sure if this is more appropriate for tech or music… if a mod feels I’ve chosen incorrectly please feel free to move it.
I like to think of myself as fairly tech-savvy, but I have no idea where to start on this one. There is a song I discovered on youtube (a classical guitar version of Storybook Love from Princess Bride) that I’d love to use as my processional song during the ceremony. I’ve messaged the poster but have not heard back about if he has an mp3 version of his arrangement. Assuming he never gets back to me.. I’ve also seem to have heard of people who can essentially pull audio from the internet/videos like that to make mp3s of their own. How does one do that? I’d assume I need a special software program? (And or, are any bees who do know how to do such things willing to do it for me? I could PM you an email address to send to…)
Thanks for your help!

Hmm, even if it is possible (which I’m sure it is) I’m not sure if it is legal.

Have you listened to the soundtrack version: http://www.amazon.com/Princess-Bride-Mark-Knopfler/dp/B000002LCB/ref=cm_lmf_tit_5
There is a way, my Fiance’s ripped music from youtube before. Let me check it out for you. It may not be legal though. Another idea is for you to hire a classical guitarist. I have a friend that played before his roommate broke his guitar.

Babyboo- Hmm hadn’t thought about the legal part of it. Though, this guy appears to be unsigned, not under contract with anyone, and I don’t see mention of copyright anywhere. I’m hoping that means I’d be in the clear? If it were a major pop star or something I can see it being an issue, but in his case, I’m hoping not. I could/would give him credit as well, of course. (Not knowing his real name I’d use his youtube account name I guess!)
beekiss- Awesome! I’m heading away from my computer for a few but will message you back soon. I have heard the soundtrack version, but I like this guy’s version even better. It seems simpler & more intimate. Personally, I love the “hire a guitarist” idea.. it’s something I’d love to do but FI thinks live musicians at weddings are cheesy and has a pretty strong aversion to it. (Boo! There’s no counting for taste!) I may still push that angle, but just in case it would be awesome to have a recorded back up!
