I live in FL and have been to Disney countless times…Coronado springs is definitely one of my favorites! It is kind of a big resort though, so keep that in mind. There is a huge pool that all of the kids/families go to, which is really fun. We went to a more secluded pool though. There were ducks that got in there with us! Haha. They are the “resort” ducks, they are really friendly. Its a very quick trip to all of the parks, with buses that you never have to wait too long for. And the rooms are pretty nice! I think you will definitely enjoy it!

I LOVE Disney World!  That is great that you are going.  Have you ever been?  The two moderate resorts I have stayed at are Coronado Springs and Caribbean beach.  Of those two, I would pick Caribbean beach.  Coronado springs to me was more for business people and I didn’t really care for the decor. Caribbean beach seemed more fun to me.  However, that being said, there will probably be more kids at Caribbean beach so maybe Coronado would be a better choice since it will be quieter.  I haven’t stayed at Port Orleans unfortunately.  Whatever you choose, I think you will be happy though.  I have stayed at value resorts, moderate, deluxe ,and Disney Vacation Club suites and it really doesn’t make too much difference because you will be happy to be there!  Sorry I couldn’t be of too much help πŸ™‚

I’m a huge Disney fan…we actually got married there.  We also spent our honeymoon at WDW and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside.  We LOVED it.  Not only are the grounds gorgeous, they upgraded our room to an amazing “riverview” room free of charge.  We stayed in the Magnolia Bend area of POR – I’d recommend that side more because it’s really romantic and has that old southern charm look to it.  There are 2 pools, both really nice.  One has a slide and is more busy, the other is quiet so it was nice to have the option to choose between the two.  There’s a piano bar inside the lobby and Piano Bar Bob does some great shows there during the week.  We typically ate in the quick service restaruant which had a huge selection of food that we really enjoyed and the atmosphere was great, too!

I have never been to Coronado Springs and I’m sure it’s a great resort, too but if I had to choose I’d take POR again!

I’ve been to Walt Disney World hundreds of times, and Coronado Springs is one of my favorites (Animal Kingdom Lodge is my absolute favorite). Yes, it has a pretty big convention center, but I’d take that over screaming children any day! πŸ˜‰ The food there is YUMMY too! My only advice is to avoid the big pool and go for one of the quiet pools instead. AND, keep in mind that just because you’re staying at one resort doesn’t mean you can’t visit the others. πŸ™‚

Me and my fiancée stayed at coronado last September, my first trip to the USA !! was 100 percent impressed with coronado, fantastic food, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms and location! In the whole 2 weeks we were there we only saw one meeting/convention taking place so we didn’t even realise that it was going on!! We are looking to go back there next year it was our favourite holiday ever staying there!! X

@Future Couture:  I’ve never stayed at Coronado, but think it’s more for business people.  I have, however, stayed at Port Orleans – Riverside (previously Dixie Landings) numerous times.  I think the resort is more intimate and the buildings are more romantic in appearance (It’s very pretty to walk around the resort at night).  I also like the river nearby and how you can take it to the shopping village.  Lastly, they have a GREAT food court!  You can buy a plastic mug and get free refills throughout your entire stay!  I say go for Port Orleans!!

Coronado Springs is one of my favories.  The Mayan Pool is great.  Enjoy a Pina Colada poolside.
