I think they will be able to put in a corset. However, you will probably have to take it somewhere else. DB usually won't do anything that changes the design of their dresses.
Bustle--I would look at a French (under) bustle. They should be able to do it so it looks like part of the pick-ups in the back.
hmmm your dress is similar to mine with the ruching.... heres the back of it... corset... of course i dont have any detailing... and my bustle is a one layer french (thats what they called it anyways :))
Thanks, Bees!
I think I wil go the corset route since I have lost some weight, but know that I can put on water weight throughout the day and might need to loosen or tighten the corset to make the dress more comfortable.
The more I look at the detailing on my dress, the more I realize the lace is an applique at the top, so it might be OK to readjust when the corset is put in (I hope! I love that detail..).
I am loving the French underbustle idea! I also wonder if something like this would work:

I think this is a multiple-point bustle? Although I heard they can be quite expensive.
Yes multi point bustles are expensive! I have one because my train is pretty long, and the seamstress told me that I have gone over the normal budget for a bustle because I have to have 12 points. I think it is going to $300 for my bustle?
@mkewed2010:Wow! Your dress must be beautiful, though. And I imagine the point bustle is totally worth it!
David's will put in a corset, they told me. I would try a few different kinds of bustles to see what looks best with the dress.
@BrideofHugo: I loved the mock up of the bustle that the seamstress did for me! It is similar to a french bustle so I get that fun look :-) Can't wait for my next fitting to see it all up again! Good luck with your bustle!
i think your dress will look great with that and not lose anything!
Thanks, everyone! I think I am going to go with the corset back and see what kinds of bustles would work best. I wonder if modifying the back of my dress to more of a "V" shape would mess with the corset? I love how that little trick gets rid of any kind of back bulge from spilling out the top of a strapless!

Hello Bees!
I am going in for my first alterations appointment the 24th of this month. I am considering getting a corset back because my dress has a zipper, and I am a little paranoid about the sturdiness of it. Do you think a corset back would work for my dress? Would I lose too much of the detail?
Here's me in my dress:http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/davids-bridal-wg9828-brides
Here's a better look at the back (website pic): http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Satin-Pick-up-With-Beaded-Lace-Peek-a-Boo-Neckline-WG9828
Also, what kind of bustle do you think?
Thanks!
