Here’s the problem….wedding in September, the bride wants a wasp waisted corset dress, or a separate corset. The eldest bridesmaid -aged 16 wants to follow the same style. ….ok so far? Well there are also bridesmaids aged 12 and 14. There’s a big discussion (read argument!) about what age a bm can, should wear a corset dress.
I’m interested in all replies, particularly from people who have solved and survived the problem.

@MaryWat: I would feel uncomfortable with anyone under 20 in a corset dress

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with putting a younger girl in a corset dress as long as it’s not pulled super tight. Is this what we’re talking about?

I don’t think 12 or 14 year olds should be in corsets. Even having the 16 year old in a corset is kinda “urgghhh” for me. At their age the bridesmaids, all of them, should be in something more demure.
Because lets be honest here….a corset is effectively underwear. It is risque to wear it as clothing by an adult, it is not appropriate as clothing for younger girls.
…especially for a wedding.

corset style on young girls is fine as long as it’s not pulled tight!

Depends what you mean by a corset, because sometimes I think they can look juvenile, and sometimes risque. You would have to post pics.
