Just curious who has, would, or wouldn't have plastic surgery.  It's an interesting topic to me because I wanted surgery all throughout college - a VERY minimal nose job and a boob job.

I'm now 30 and went through with a breast augmentation 4 1/2 years ago taking me from a 36 A+/B- to a solid 38D.  Sub-muscular (under my pectoral), periareolar (incision around my areola).  The change in band width was unfortunately thanks to weight gain from having to stop working out to recover, in addition to age making my metabolism tank.  I haven't been able to get my 36 back since :)

I'm THRILLED with the results. No one would guess they're 'fake', and people that I do tell have been very surprised.  The recovery was rough, and my implants didn't begin to settle/soften for a few months, but I'm so happy with the way they've turned out and I have zero regrets.  I wanted smaller ones but my surgeon insisted I'd wished I'd gone bigger.  Now that I have these honkers I think I would've been fine with the smaller size, but still... very happy.

I've seen some pictures on here that lead me to believe that I'm not alone ;), but just curious who else is out there?  Would you have surgery? What would you have done?

I haven't yet... I just focused on other things for now like I got my teeth fixed 3 years ago and started getting botox and peels about a year ago.

I plan on getting my breasts done after kids. I heard too many horror stories of what happens to implants after them and my plastic surgeon said he couldn't guarantee the results and I should wait. I am 29 years old, a 36B and plan on just going up a cup size and getting them more fuller.

I had a nose job. Nothing was wrong with it i just wasn't happy with it. After we have kids i plan on getting a boob job & possibly a tummy tuck and stretch mark reduction if i need it. It's funny how plastic surgery's so common now and days.

I never have, but I already told DH that I"m getting a tummy tuck and a boob lift when we're done having kids :) I see no issue with plastic surgery, as long as it isn't taken to the extreme (heidi montag, anyone?).

I haven't had anything done yet, but I'm going to get my boobs done after my first child and maybe some lipo at the same time. I think majority of my friends have their boobs done a couple have their nose done.. I'm not really too sure when it became common but it is here in Calgary... if you go to the bars you'd see girls who are REAL young with their boobs done.. which is a little crazy but thats their body do what you like.. I have an idea about how much breast implants will cost but no idea what lipo cost.... Has anyone had lipo done?

It seems like everyone's had something done, at least in my neck of the woods (then again I live in a kinda uppity area of town even though my neighborhood is modest).  I've never wanted children and still don't, so I had no issues getting my boobs and worrying about breast feeding.  That was a plus... but I can absolutely see why many women would wait till post-kids.

ETA: Lipo ain't cheap.  Breast augmentation is anywhere from $5k-8k around here, and I believe lipo was in the $3k range (if I recall correctly).

Well I wanted to get breast implants this year but many of my friends were opposed to it just because they've had them done and then they had kids and now some of them have to get it redone, something about taking 2 years for your breast to fully heal so it not worth doing them before if you're going to have kids in the near future.

I would def. consider Breast Augmentation :). I love my son and am okay that my body had to change to accommodate him, I just wish it would go back to the way it was before I got pregnant. boo!!!

Technically I've had plastic surgery, but it's an odd situation.

I broke my nose when I was 5 years old and my parents took me to a plastic surgeon to fix it.

So technically I had a nose job at 5.

However, they chose to have a plastic surgeon fix it (rather than let it heal on it's own with a bump) because:

    1) I was really young

    2) There was the possibility I'd end up with a deviated septum

I don't believe in it.  Never never no way.

(With the exception of severe accidents which can make it necessary)

I picked no, but I'd like...

Although, I don't know what I'd like. Currently, I don't want anything changed. But in the future who knows. My eye lids may sag, and I don't want saggy eye lids. I'd probably get that fixed...

If my boobs took a terrible turn to the floor, I'd probably get that fixed too...

I would never do it "just cuz", I would do it to help my confidence. Not in an artificial kind of way, but the difference between "You look tired today" and "wow, you look rested!"

If that makes any sense at all...

Elective surgery, unless it is seriously improving quality of life, seems really scary to me.  I have really crooked teeth and hate them, and if I could afford it I might get them done, but I doubt that will ever happen.

I haven't had any, I also already told FI that I'd like a breast lift when we are done having children. Obviously that won't be for a while (since we don't even plan to TTC for 2 more years). I've never really had a desire to get anything else done though.

I've had armpit botox if that counts...but it was because I have a sweating problem (hyperhydrosis), lol...so I don't think that counts.

I could see myself getting plastic surgery after having kids, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.  For now I'm quite happy with my body (especially since my armpits don't sweat anymore!)

@MandaMack:  OMG I've been wanting botox for my hyperhydrosis!! Does it work for you?  How often do you have to get injections?

I'm thinking I want a breast lift after I have children.  I have always wanted breast reduction surgery, but I have recently lost 30 pounds and they have gotten drastically smaller...but not perkier! Haha.

I also REALLY want a nose job.  I've always hated my nose.  It wasn't great to begin with, then when I was 11 or so, I broke it and the bump that I already hated just got worse!  So that is something that I really may look into.

If we're talking about the wedding specifically I didn't want actual surgery, but I would've liked to get my teeth professionally whitened if we'd had the budget for it.

In general, I'd love lipo but would never have the guts to go through with it.  It's a quick fix and I know that if I'm going to lose weight I should do it for real.  Though, if I ever do get to be a skinny minnie and I have extra loose skin, I might consider getting that taken off.

I'm very open to the options of plastic surgery. I plan on getting chemical peels in a few years (late 20's) and would also be open to botox/something similar down the line. I am a small girl but fairly large chested and would be open to having them lifted/touched up after kids and gravity take their toll.

I also have had two friends who have had nose jobs and look FANTASTIC! One fixed a large nose and breathing problems and the other just fixed a bump...nose jobs scare me b/c of the hammer haha but the ones I've seen first hand look fantastic. I also know a girl who I went to school with who had her chin done and it completely changed her face from kind of long and not feminine to delicate and beautiful.

I think that it can get out of hand (obviously) but one or two things can make people look fantastic and feel fantastic about themselves!

I am planning (and saving) for breast implants after we have children. I am very large chested to start and want to make sure that my nipples aren't hanging out of the bottom of my capris when I'm 60.

I've always told FI I want my boobs done someday. They are a decent size for my body size and shape and he says "just wait until we have kids and they get giant' lol. I'm not so much worried about their size but I would like the permanent lift!

I would definitely get botox (not surgery but still cosmetic) and maybe a boob job down the road when they get all saggy.

    I'm pro plastic surgery.

I plan on getting botox as soon as I can afford it even if I'm too young just to help maintain.

I also plan to have my nose redone since it is crooked and just needs a slight tweak to help up "pretty" factor. I think I'm cute for the most part, but I think with a few minor adustments I could actually be beautiful.

I do know that I do not want my boobs done! I already have a hard time getting shirts and fitted jackets to lay right with my 31 inch rib cage and C cups. Button ups are the worst!

Um...sort of? I had a breast reduction when I was 18. I was 5'1", 120 lbs, with a 36 DD and already having back and neck problems.  Our insurance paid for it all. So, it was for health reasons more than anything else.

But I won't lie. 18 year old me was way more happy about it for aesthetic reasons - i.e., I could buy bathing suits and dresses that fit me on top no longer billowed out below like tents. I'm 34 C now, which is the perfect size for me.

The only time I think I might regret it is if I am not able to breastfeed if/when I have children.

Not yet, but I've been planning on getting bigger ladies since I was like 13. You better believe that I'm getting the girls augmented. I've been to a consultation and I'm looking at going from a C to a DD. Go big or go home. I've heard that the #1 complaint women have after augmentation is that they didn't go big enough, so I don't plan on having that issue.

I would love to have a tummy tuck or lipo. After having a baby, even with religious working out and diet, I just can't seem to lose this extra little pouch. I don't care about anything else that changed with having him except that! I hate that I work so hard to be in shape and you'd never know it my looking at my stomach! Ugh! Just wish I could save money long enough to do it!

Nope.  I would not ever elect to have any sort of unnecessary surgery.  I would do surgery only if my life or well being depended on it, or it was (god forbid) some severe disfiguring accident.  Breast reduction can be justified to me as well being (though I'll never have that problem), but, even though I would love bigger breast, I'd never get implants and just cant justify it.

Sorry to disagree with all the PP but no way, no how.

I disapprove of the unecessary risks, the unreasonable standards (double standard, even?) for women that it supports, and the horrible message that it sends to future generations.

Why can't the way we were born just be good enough for ourselves?

Considering that my 36F boobs already give me back and neck pain, I 100% intend to get a reduction after I have kids.

And while I'm already under, maybe they can lift them and give me a post-kid tummy tuck too?  :)
