Hi-sorry this is a later response, just saw this post ![]()
I just recently decided I would really like a day of coordinator and started price shopping. The first ones I made contact with wanted $2500 for just the day of ![]()
But I kept calling and finally found one for $500-750, depending on what all you have them do, and I meet with them next weekend. They would want $2500 for doing everything in the planning process.....
I had found everything in between the two prices, so just shop around and you can probably find something reasonable....
I'm in SoCal and paying $1200 for DOC - totally worth it!!
My venue requires a DOC and has even provided a list of ones they have worked with on the day of, so check with your venue they may have a list of recommendations.
The onsite coordinator is also great, I talked with her this week about some issues I was having budget wise and she made some great suggestions, hopefully some one at your venue is as nice and helpful as mine is.
Pricing has been the toughest thing for me to do; I didn't want to exclude anyone, but I wanted to make sure I was getting compensation for all the work I was doing. I think it really depends on how many people/staff are going to work at your wedding, level of expertise, complexity of the event, location and years of experience. I'm sure there are some out there who will charge whatever they think they can get, but yeah...pricing is different for everyone.
hi, i found one for $850 although by shopping around knot boards and weddingbee, i saw some for around $550. I would really look at messageboards because at first, the ones i got back were $1500 plus for just day of. brides will be your best help in getting you a day of coordinator that is really good but maybe not well known.
I only need a DOC for a couple hours and she charges by the hour, so I'm paying lest than $200 for mine.
the first person I called wanted $2000 for the day of coordinating. I kept calling and found that is way above normal. The woman I chose to coordinate the day of charges $800 for the day or $2500 for full time planning. I think her day of rate is pretty reasonable.
I am getting an extreme bargain for $300, a DOC that's just starting out but got lots of rave reviews. I feel absoluately confident to have her manage my day.
Another DOC that was very well respected on the boards was around $500-$700 (can't remember exact number)
I'm paying approx. $1200 for DOC (socal). Plus she's a Knot 2007 Pick. ;D I do know that her prices have gone up since the beginning of the new year.
My cost is $689.00 (includes taxes) for the Coordinator and Assistant
(2) hour meeting - consultation 2 - 4 weeks prior to wedding day
10 consecutive hours for both the day of the wedding.

I was under the impression that day of coordination services run in the $600/day range. However, I just got quotes back from two DOCs who want to charge $1700 for the day! I'm astounded by this and this would totally blow our budget for this out of the water.
Is this normal? Did costs jump? Did I misread earlier when I saw people paying in the $600 range? I was so excited to think about not having to care about the little stuff on my wedding day and now I'm thinking about how I'll have to run around, all Type-A, on my day.
