The dress my BMs are getting is $198 and they all seem fine with that. I was trying to keep it under $250.

My BMs paid $115 but they were ok with anything around $150.

I gave my bridesmaids a color that I wanted the dresses to be in and let them run with it!  My MOH got her dress free from a friend who had bought it off of EBay (and then found out it was the wrong size) and gave it to my MOH to use.  🙂  My BM bought hers for about $150, but honestly, she choose to go with a more expensive dress of the several that we’d found and liked, sooo…. lol her choice!

if you want to keep costs lower, look at dessy, jcrew, or david’s during sales. non-bridesmaid dresses are a great alternative too! sites like modcloth have adorable, affordable dresses.

I was trying hard to keep my girl’s dresses under $150. Their dresses ended up being $135. We are ordering from http://www.ebridalsupstore.com. They carry a lot of designers for a deep discount. Try netbride.com too.

@sharttle: personally I would not want to pay more then 150.00 for a BM dress….but i have never spend 150.00 on a dress for myself!!So Im different i guess.

My girls paid 99.00 for theres and they were very happy with that! 🙂

Ours were JCrew and about $200. Everyone was fine with it and the one BM who I knew did not have a lot of disposable income, I paid for hers. I also paid for my MOH because she paid for the majority of my bachelorette. As a BM myself, I’ve always paid around $200 for the dress.

My girls paid right around $200 for theirs, but they are custom made dresses because of a specific fabric I wanted.  I’m going to pay for their accessories, hair and nails and possibly shoes to make up for the high cost of the dresses though.

@sharttle: ask your girls what they are comfortable spending. Personally 200 is too much for a BM dress, but your girls may be cool with it, but I think its important to clear the price by them first.

Mine were about $170, but my mom is fantastic and chipped in $50 for each girl, so with the discount from my buying my dress there and getting the tuxes there, it will be about $120. None of my girls wanted to order online, but if yours are up for it, we found some great options around $80 from ModCloth, JCrew (their sales rock), and Henkaa sells some really gorgeous convertible dresses.

I think $150 is the standard. it really depends on where you are at in your life. My BM’s were all financially struggling (new babies or new careers) so I tried to keep it low, but I was in a wedding where we were all established in our careers and our dresses were $300 and we were all fine with it. You should consider your attendants and make the decision from there.

Check http://www.bestbridalprices.com to see if the ones you like are available there. They are totally legit. My BMs got theirs there for around $150 (at least $50 – $80 less than the dresses were in stores) AND, delivery within the USA was free! Customer service was also great, and the dresses were even delivered early.
