cost of DOC

I am in Boston and our DOC was about $700.  That cost included her help from the Rehearsal through the rehearsal dinner and until every last thing was packed up after the weddding and every vendor had gone home.

I highly suggest finding a DOC who will work with you in this capacity.  Many of them cost less, but are only available for a certain amount of hours.  You don’t want to be about to walk down the aisle and have your DOC come up to you and say…’uh, yeah, your 4 hours are up but for an additional $1K I’ll stay the rest of the night’!

I’m in Los Angeles and mine cost $1875.

I had her mid priced package – month of/day of coordination.  I probably could have just used her for day of since I did all the planning and design myself.

I cannot stress how important it is to have a DOC 🙂

Hello! The cost of a DOC usually depends on your area and what type of services you need from a planner on the day of your wedding. If you’re still looking for one, I’d be glad to talk with you more. Send me a PM if you’re interested. By the way congrats on your upcoming wedding! Happy Planning!

DOCs really vary by location.  In St. Louis they can vary from $500 to over $1000 (crazy).  Mine was only $500 and she has gone above and beyond what I expected.  I suggest meeting with at least two DOCs to get prices and see if you really click with them.  Afterall, you do have to spend one of your most important days with her/him!

I live in LA, a wedding coordinator came with a package for our church for the ceremony.. she was $150.. at the reception, the DJ took care of everything for the reception (which was a part of our deal with him)

I had a family friend make sure all of the vendors were arriving on time and doing what they were supposed to be doing.

You can make it work without one, esp if you hired mostly professional vendors

I’m delegating one family member and one friend to herd everyone; at the reception my emcee will keep the timeline

why spend $1000 when you can just delegate?

I used Bash – they’re based in NYC, but I know they cover weddings all over New York, NJ, CT and PA, so it’s definitely worth a shot reaching out! They were super affordable – I think it was about $600 for 2 DOCs. I worked with 1 for about 5 months in advance, then 2 came in the day of.

They were great because we got married on LI and had a hard time finding some vendors (we don’t live on LI) and they had tons of referrals.

Good luck and congratulations!

Mrs. Corn:  Would you mind passing along the contact details of your DOC? Asking for a friend in Boston!
