My husband rented his tux.  It was free, since they had a deal going if you rent 5 tuxes, the groom got his free.  It would have been $207 though I believe.

We bought a 3-piece suit, shirt, and belt along with all the alterations for about $400 at Men’s Wearhouse using a 50% coupon!

We’re estimating about $1,200, all told.

Tuxedo (buying): $500

Shoes (buying): $350

Shirt: $100-150

Alterations (shirt and tuxedo): $100

Misc. (studs, socks, bow tie): $50-100

[My dress, alterations, shoes, and underthings come to almost exactly the same amount.]

We bought his downtown LA in the fashion district for $190. With pants, vest and coat. I am hemming the bottom of his pants. He already had shoes and a white button down shirt. Not sure what accessories he would need?

We might even try to sell it after the wedding. He will not need something that fancy again after the wedding.

We’re renting, and I think the tux would have been $190, but we’re getting a discount for whatever reason, so it’ll be $160 or so when it’s all said and done.

He bought his suit from Joseph A. Bank. They were having a sale, so he and his best man went in together and split the cost. The suit ended up being around $250. He bought a shirt there as well, but I have no idea what he paid. I got his tie at Belk for about $18, I think. He bought his shoes at Payless, so I don’t know what he paid, but not much.

We bought a custom three piece suit from Indochino for $700. We had bought his shoes a while before but he just never wore them. I think they were $150. His shirt and tie were both from express and were about a $100. However, we paid for that witha gift card.

We bought the suit, I wanted a very specific kind of mid century cocktail party kind of look so we had to buy. We totally lucked out too because the jacket and shoes I had been eyeing both went on sale for 50% recently so we saved a bunch.

Jacket: $48

Pants: $30

Shirt: $30

Tie: $15

Shoes: $60

Socks: $2

Tie tack: $5

Total: $210

My husband was very lucky, and his suit was a gift from an uncle who is a tailor.
He wore his fancy dress shoes, and his dress belt.
The shirt was was $80. Undershirt was $15. Socks were $20. I believe the cufflinks were $50 half off.

Tie was $40,  Pocket Square was $12.

So altogether, $217 plus the gift of the suit.

I do have to say that everything has been worn again quite a bit – it made it very worth it.

We decided to buy my FI’s suit. We found one we loved at Bachrach and with a buy one get one free sale we got the suit (jacket and pants) for $150. We also got his tie there for $60, but got my dad’s tie free with the BOGO sale so really it was $30. He’s wearing his own accessories (shirt from his sister’s wedding, his own socks etc.). We did buy new shoes, but they are shoes he’ll be able to wear at work after the wedding and we got them on sale for $35. Plus, we got his tungsten carbide ring online for $15. I love his look and am even happier we got it for around $230!
