We went to Men's Wearhouse. I think their basic suits start at $49.95. We got full tuxes, so they were $144.95.
What is the size of your wedding party? Luckily (in some respects!), we have 6 GMs, so FI got his rental for free. The grey Calvin Klein tux we were looking at from MW, was going for around 125 + shoes. We ended up getting his tux at the bridal salon I got my dress at, and with taxes, the GMs will be paying $155.
I recall a friend who got married in October saying she got her suits (not tuxes) from the same bridal salon she got her BM dresses from for around $100.
Probably my moh and his bm. That's it! Just called Men's Wearhouse and they said they don't rent suits, only tuxes. I may check at Mr. Formal.
For suits, you could also just have people buy from someplace cheapish like H&M. Only marginally more expensive and they get to keep it.
I've got a friend who makes custom suits for around $400.. You can pick your fabric, lining, suff and label style, buttons, etc. and it's custom-made to fit his exact measurements. If you're interested the website is www.djonescollection.com
Thanks for the info. We are looking to keep cost down. Maybe he knows someone who he can borrow a suit from, or we will rent.
If you don't need matching suits, the cheapest thing to do would probably be to buy one off ebay, or find one at a local thrift store. Almost certainly cheaper than a rental.
My husband bought a suit at Men's warehouse, we weren't into renting the tuxes either. So now he has a suit, it was a buy one get one free sale, so him and the best man split the cost.
I would so hold out for like a Macys or Mens Warehouse sale. They have really inexpensive options! We saw suits last year during a spring sale for about $130...
Mens Wearhouse doesn't rent suits (except for boys)-- they want you to BUY suits. I don't want to be appearing to spam the website, so I can answer your second question if you'll e-mail me (arizonainfo@mrformalinc.com). And yes, you can buy an inexpensive suit on sale for as little as $130-- but don't forget to add the cost of alterations, shirt, tie, belt, shoes, etc. If he's only going to wear it once (or even twice), renting is the way to go
Hey, he mentioned in passing today that he doesn't want to wear anything (ever) that resembles a tuxedo. What would I wear if he wore nice slacks, a nice shirt, a vest and a tie (and a cute newsboy hat)?
Start at Brother's Tailors in Phoenix, AZ for men's suits and formal clothes. I've been going to Gus for over a year now and you can't go wrong here. Here's the website: http://brotherstailors.com/
We're looking at buying suits from Joseph A Banks...you can buy a suit for under $150 and if you buy 5 (for groomsmen), the groom gets his free! They have big sales all the time too.
If you're trying to keep costs really low, I reccommend H&M...you can buy a suit there for pretty cheap.

Haven't rented a suit or tux since last time I was married, like 15 years ago. What's the going rate now at places like Men's Wearhouse? or Mr.Formal? Thanks bees!
