LAB: I’m surprised the average cost for weddings is so low for SF. Thanks for sharing this!

I wish they had those stats for Canada! I’m getting married in Vancouver.

I personally don’t think an average is really the best way to gauge what the majority of the population is spending on a wedding.  I would think the mode or median would be more accurate; however the “average” is probably a much higher number, so it’s no surprise that a place such as “the knot” would use this statistic.

I don’t like that they included the engement ring amount in it, I don’t really consider that a wedding cost personally and I think for a lot of people jacks up their overall cost by a lot. I also think they should have included who was paying for the wedding, that would be interesting perspective.

I can’t say I’m surprised the cost has gone up. Inflation alone will do that!

As I plan my wedding, I can see why the average cost is so high.

I live in Missouri and am planning a well below the average cost of a wedding. It’s hard!

I’d be interested in the average in Newfoundland.  My budget is about 12,000 excluding honeymoon and I’m on track for that.  I don’t think they should have included the engagement ring.

Hey, I live in Vancouver too. I once interview a wedding planner and she told me realistic wedding cost in Vancouver is at 30K range.

These are averages and they don’t shock me. Someone paying 100k for their wedding brings up the average more than someone paying 15 brings it down. The low end caps at 0 while the high end is unlimited!
