Hi!
I used a professional wedding dress cleaner and I got it during a special and paid $99 US. That's professionally cleaned and stored in a box.
Regularly direct from the cleaner it was about $150 I think.
I called my salon and it was almost $200 and they were sending it to the same cleaners!!
My suggestion is call around but make sure you ask if it's cleaned in house or sent out. And if sent out where they send it to and call that cleaner directly and see what their price is.
And oh don't forget to research the cleaner as well on yelp and such. I've heard of girls having their dress ruined by a bad cleaner. :(
Great advice, thank you!!
Does the price usually depend on how many layers and material the dress is? I'm just wondering if I'm going to need all that info before I start calling and researching.
You're welcome!
As for the dress style, I wasn't asked by the cleaner I used.
It was just a flat rate.
Oh the place I used is BridalKare International. But....remember to research locatiosn as well. Because it's not like BridalKare sends it to a central location. Each BridalKare branch cleans their own gowns.
Thanks for asking this! I was getting curious about the same thing.
My mom took mine to the cleaners and said it was $65. Although she opted not to get the box because she said it would take up half the room haha.
I used Wedding Gown Preservation Company. It was really easy. They send you a box to mail the dress to them, they clean and steam your dress and pack it up beautifully in a preservation box. They also cleaned and preserved my veil and garter at no extra charge. It took about 6 weeks. I was quite skeptical at first, but they provide insurance, so that helped ease my fears. Oh, and it cost $150. :)
Wow! I'm jealous of all of these great prices!! Mine was $400 to get cleaned and preserved in a box. Yowza!!
Oy mine was a small fortune, I think it was like $250 to have it cleaned and preserved in a window box.
Cleaning, preserving & boxing mine set me back $300. BUT, I did get charged a bit extra because my dress was a mess from my outdoor wedding & reception. I think it started at $225 or $250.
Wow, I got totally ripped off... it cost me $350 (flat rate, didn't depend on soil or style) for dry cleaning and preservation. I sent it through a bridal salon, maybe there was an upcharge. Also, the bridal salon I bought it from recommended J. Sheer in NY, which would have cost a minimum of $800!
I posted about this a while back, just to add a few more responses to your survey

And no, I still haven't done mine. Bad bride... :P
Check the care label of your dress. It might not be safe to dry clean it. My dress say "professionally wetclean by hand." If you ask a cleaner to dryclean it, that is exactly what they'll do, even if the label says otherwise.
The woman I got the dress from said she's charge me $129 for cleaning and preserving, which I think is a steal!

How much approx. does it cost to get a dress dry cleaned?
I'd like to get mine done so I think I'll start calling around tomorrow but I'm just curious what to expect.
