Back story: I'm at home right now and not starting a new job for a few weeks. It's too frigging hot out to go for a meaningful walk, and I've got something like $12 to my name, putting a gym membership out of the question right now.

What little exercises can y'all suggest for me to do around the house (in the AC... near the TV) that will keep me sane and somewhat on track until September when I can rejoin the world of the gym goers?

I suggest you google "Tabata training". Short, free and efficient. :)

    Oh Wow,

I have the perfect thing: Google "100 push ups" and print the workouts - they are 3x a week and I combine the pushups, squats and sit ups! They are excellent!

    Jumping Jacks and Pushups.

JJs work the heart and burn the cals, PUs are full body muscle toners.

    Old school, and they work.

If you honestly mute the TV on commercials, stop whatever you are doing and do exercises for the 3 minutes of commercials you would do great.

Try to do 1 minute of each in any combination you want:

    • Push Ups
    • Sit ups
    • Leg lifts
    • Dips on the couch or coffee table
    • jumping jacks
    • run in place
    • side lounges
    • sit ups (try lots of variations, each for 1 min)
    • etc.

Google different exercises to do at home and start!
