I’ve recently started doing it after not running for a long time. I really like it because it helps you pace yourself, even if you aren’t really doing it to run 5Ks in the end. I have repeated a few days when I thought they were pretty hard and I didn’t want to/wasn’t ready to move onto the next running length yet.

Did it last year and am on week 7 right now! I like it. I hate running but keep doing it because it’s free as opposed to a gym. Go for it!

I am on Weelse 2 so I’m a newbie!  Highly recommend the NHS podcasts, music helps!

Week one was tough, but rest days help! Now at week two I’m surprided I’m doing well, but I am!!

Week 2, won’t let me edit.

Also, I recommend Map My Run, free app, it shows me my distance and keeps me motivated.

I have done it a few times in the past and highly highly recommend!! It’s so satisfying when you realize you can run a mile (or two!) without stopping.  Just stick with it and try to finish each weeks.  If you are really struggling, repeat that week before moving on, but at least give it a shot. Good luck!

I’m doing it too! I started it in April and found Week 5 to be really tough – ashamed to say I let it discourage me and I sort of fell off the wagon for a few weeks. BUT I’m back in the saddle, started it again this weekend (repeating from Week 2 to get back up to speed) and enjoying it!

I used it a couple years ago, and it does work well. Sometimes the transitions can be really tough – push yourself and try it anyway. If you really can’t manage, then repeat the previous week before moving on. Don’t make excuses though and keep holding off. You really can push yourself and run for longer.

Good luck!

I tried it recently, and made it to week 3 before I had to stop due to knee pain.  I’m still disappointed in myself.

soontobesmith87:  I went from zero activity to doing the C25K.  I did it to lose weight, after not doing well at the gym, or at home with our gym equipment, or with tapes.  It absolutely worked!! I followed it religiously for 9 weeks, and then signed up for a 5K at week 10 – to see if it truly had me prepared.  I finished my first 5k, and ran the entire way.  I have that program to thank for starting a new passion of mine, which is now distance running.  After my first 5k, I wanted to go further, be faster, and compete with myself in road races.  In one year, I have ran a ton of races, and keep striving for more.  I am running a 10-miler in a few weeks, and then my first 1/2 thereafter.

I feel amazing. I eat better, and I have managed to keep off 30+lbs for over a year just by being active (because I still pig out from time to time!).

I am doing the Zombie Run C25K.  I like listening to the story when I run.

stephee:  Thanks! Mindy is the best. Have you read her book? I love how she said her running motivation is inventing really elaborate scenarios where she’s sprinting away from murderers or to get revenge. Maybe I should try that when I get back to week 5!
