Long time lurker but I need some advice. Please don’t blast me..I know I should just get a pregnancy test (I am planning to after work) but I’m just looking for some reassurance til I do.
My husband and I have been married for two years and since then have been using the pull out method successfully. This last cycle, we did have sex multiple times during my fertility window. I was supposed to get my AF four days ago but nothing has happened yet. I have been experiencing all the usual PMS symptoms: cramps, bloating, backaches, fatigue, headaches so I am totally convinced I am going to get AF any minute. I have been doing a lot of research and it seems like a lot of normal PMS symptoms can also be pregnancy symptoms which I really didn’t know. Do you think I could be pregnant or is AF just really late? Is it too early to test? For reference I have never ever been this late before so this is completely abnormal for me.
Any personal advice/experiences would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks Bees 🙂

4 days late is plenty late to show up on a test if you are pregnant – which you definitely could be.
There’s a joke: ‘what do you call couples who rely on pulling out as birth control?’

Pulling out can be as effective as condoms if done properly, there is statistical research on that.
that being said, abstinence is the only 100% way it would never happen so yes there’s a chance. A test would definitely say by now if you were. It sounds like you are to me! (If not you just ovulated late most likely)

The pullout method is very reliable when done properly, but no method is completely fool proof. And yes, PMS and pregnancy symptoms are essentially the same. Only one way to find out. Good luck.

If you’re 4 days late you can take a test.

I was late and i had all the pms symptoms i usually got and was convinced too that AF would be coming at any minute but as Swizzle: has said… we dont know whats going on in your body. take a test… you are far enough that it will tell you yes or no.

weddingbliss1028: It’s always possible, no matter what method of BC you use! Only one way to know, hope you get the result you want!

If your period is usually like clockwork and you didn’t have anything unusual going on around ovulation time (stress, travelling etc), my guess is you’re pregnant.
If your periods can be irregular and/or you were stressed out around ovulaton time, my guess is you’re not and you just ovulated late.
But…a guess from an internet stranger is fairly meaningless really. You just need to take a test. Come back and let us know how it turns out!
