Hey everyone… I think I just found my wedding dress…!! I’d always wanted a vintage dress, and it’s 1930s vintage (or is it antique at that point? ha). I’m a tad worried that the dress is just too simple, so I want to accessorize with a lace bolero. The wedding will be simple and small – 60 or less people and outdoors in September, which can still be very hot in SoCal.
But I need advice on boleros… Would a bolero look good with this dress since it has straps??
Here’s a link to a picture of me in my dress (it’s not altered), followed by a couple of links to boleros I like. What do you think???!!! Or do you have any other suggestions for accessories? Anything will be appreciated!!

I think a lace bolero would look great with your dress! I think they would all look good but I think I like the 3rd one the best

My dress has straps and it has a matching bolero.
I think a bolero would look great!

i think adding one of those bolero’s would be darling! I absolutely adore your dress, It’s amazing. I really like the shape of the first bolero, the back would be so pretty open like that especially if the back of your dress were a “V” shape, but I also like the lace detail of the second one. do you think one of the etsy designer could take what you love about all the bolero’s and make a custom one for you?

miss baker – your dress is beautiful!! and now I feel more confident about adding a bolero to the straps!
the back of the dress is low but straight, with buttons (yay!)
I’ll probably contact the etsy designers after I pull the trigger on the dress – the store I’m going to buy it at just acquired it, and it needs some repairs to the lace parts since it’s so old. i would love it if the etsy designers could custom make one!

Yes, do it! I love boleros and I think it would look great with the dress. #2 is my favorite!

@tory826: Late response here but OMG, so jealous about your dress! I wanted nothing more than something very old but no way anything from those years would fit me! And I think one of those boleros would be perfect. I prefer #1 or #3 though. Beign about equally attractive, personally I’d go with the less expensive one, it has a very old-fashioned look about it I think.

Editing my opinion because I went and looked again. I think #3 is better for your dress. I love #1 but the sequins IMO don’t go as well with the antique-ness of your dress. Three is more understated and similar, I think. It matches the delicacy.

I think either #2 or #3 would work really well.
