Hello all bees 🙂
I have been following a lot of the Jasmine threads and loving a lot of their work. I am a uni student (so money is a big factor for the dress) and live in a country where dress shops are scarce. I don’t really like the styles (or prices of the dresses around here) and I would love to have something different. I have been thinking about getting Jasmines to make my dress but I’m worried of going through stress and explanations if the dress is difficult to replicate in the first place or there are not enough detailed photos to replicate is properly (only 4 photos found). Anyway, I would love to hear your opinions before asking for a quote 🙂
My FI and I are getting married (In 2 years lol) in the Caribbean, on a beach so even though I am in love with more structured dresses, I wanted something light and flowy. I found this Lillian West dress that I fell in love with!! 🙂 I know I have a lot of time yet before my wedding but I really don’t want to leave anything till last minute (as I usually do).
These are the only 4 pictures I have ever seen of this dress. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way it flows and drapes with those ripples/ruches whatever you call them (as you can see I am very techinically minded when it comes to sewing and dress making 🙂 )
I am not a picky person, I just REALLY want those ripples to look almost identical… can it be done? I have seen a lot of jasmines work and most of the time, I don’t like the ruching, but this isn’t exactly ruching is it?
I don’t have any closeups of the beading and I’m not very attached to it, so instead of having them guess, I would ask them to do the straps like this Sincerity dress (which also is another dress I cannot try on :'( )
The lace doesn’t have to be the same, any lace criss cross straps about the same thickness will do, I just REALLY want the rippl-y bits of the dress 🙂 (My FI LOVES ripply dresses)
Let me know what you think!
