Hi bees. I have been charting for a month now. AF has not appeared just yet but by later today, Iknow that it will have started. does this mean that Ihave a 30 day cycle? Or do Icount the first day of very light spotting as day 1? Also some bees think that Imay have ovulated on day 17 according to my chart. FF seems to think it was day 15 though. If, for arguements sake, it WAS day 17, that would mean that Ihave a 13 day luteal phase – is that correct? If so, is that considered a short luteal phase?? If anyone could let me know what they think I’d be really grateful. Also please ignore my dodgy typing. I’m on my phone!

@Lillyrose: CD 17 looks like o to me, and a luteal phase of 13 days is fine, great even. FF will show you how many days your cycle is as soon add you enter your first day of AF, you count whatever it does 🙂

CD1 is usually the first heavy day of AF, I would not count the light spotting days. Your chart looks pretty normal to me if you don’t count those light spotting days. I would say O on CD 17 as it is right now.

@Lillyrose: You likely ovulated on CD15. Do not count spotting days. Start with the first day with heavy flow. The average LP is 12 days, so yours is above average. Good for you. Your cycle looks pretty good. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks you guys! I saw a post about short luteal phases which is why I wanted to know if I O’D on day 17 whether my LP would be short. You made me feel a lot better. Thanks!
