My mom is putting a wedding shower on for me. She is not very good with computers so she asked if I would help her with the invitations. We might end up making them ourselves. She bought some napkins for the shower that match this design perfectly:
My question is, does this look more like a wedding invitation or would it work as a shower invitation? (We would just use the one on the left).

It looks more like a wedding invitation but it really doesn’t matter. It’s not like people will read it and get confused.

It does look like a wedding invitation. But you could get away with it as long as you change up the wording completely so it reads that one is invited to a wedding shower, not a wedding.

It’s a very formal looking invitation. It could lead your guests to think the shower is also very formal.

It just screams wedding to me.

@MissKit: I think it works, but only if it’s a fairly formal shower. Remember that the invitation is the guest’s first introduction to the party. I base my outfit on what the invitation “says” to me. I’d be in a “church” dress and pumps at least for this shower, so if it’s a backyard BBQ you may want to go with something else.
