@momolove:  I would say its nothing… if it were a few years old!  It’s only a few months old and that should not be happening.  Have you checked to see if there is a factory warrenty instead of through the flooring company?

@momolove:  I definetly think it isn’t right. I have a family member with 2 kids and her laminate floors are 4 years old and they still look really good. It seems like it’s not stuck down properly.

How are you cleaning the floors (they look spotless!)? This could contribute to the little flaking around the edges, but it is still so new I’d have a hard time not feeling a little disappointed to be seeing wear and tear already.

Hrm. Well, I mean they are pretty dark, so you probably wouldn’t notice the same flakes in a lighter color… but yeah if you’re being good to them these little chips seem premature.

I’d be in touch with the flooring company like you are. Not the end of the world if this is what you get, but it’d be nice to know whether this is the quality of the product, the installation of the product, or an actual defect.

@momolove:  Not all laminate floors are created equal. Do you know the brand and and product name/code? Its possible they cheaped out on you and gave you a not good quality one.
