Aaaww! Congratulations! This is such an exciting time!
I stopped the pill and calculated my ovulation dates with online ovulation calculators and it worked quickly for us. But really, calculating was kind of unnecessary, because once off the pill, when ovulating, doing the deed was all I could think of - our bodies are wired for conception.
But it is harder for some people, so choose what seems best for you.
Congrats! Thats really exciting. I don't have any wise advice for you as far as fertility tracking or whatnot, but I just wanted to congratulate you
Thanks! Yes, I think I will only tell my one friend who has told me about hers. (She started 2 weeks ago......we live very far away from eachother but are the best of friends).
This is why it is so great to have weddingbee at at time like this, where there are so few people to talk to about it in real life, and yet, so much to talk about!
@cvbee: I know! We're trying to keep the pregnancy somewhat of a secret for now and it is very difficult. However, the few people we have told, we regret some of them regardless of how close, because some are over-excited... Which is overwhelming at this moment where none of it feels real.
I wish you the best of luck to conceive soon! :)
YAY!!! I actually just wrote almost the same post and didn't see this until after! I am so excited. SO feel you on the WB friendships, it makes a huge difference for those of us who can't help but talk about what's going on! :)
Congratulations!!
I think I would wait before I told anyone that you were TTC. People are rude and nosey. Once you tell them, theyll be asking about it all the time. I also think I would wait before buying the fertility monitors. Maybe give it a few months of trying first? Ultimately, you know your body best & it will also help to get insight from your doctor. :)
congrats! so exciting! Me and the hubby just started TTC this month! We invested in the CB fertility montior, bc for me it just eases my mind knowing exxactly when i am expected to Ovulate. But i am also a bit of a worrywort. lol.I just feel like i have more control and infomation to help me get preggars. lol You could always ctry for a few months and then invest in one if you want to later. I also am SUPER worried about having problems ttc, you are not alone! its one of my biggest fears, but the monitor has eased my mind a little bit, so that i knowt aht i am at least ovulating (among checking other signs) but i think its good to have bc some women dont ovulate on typical day 14 like online caluclators predict, bc every women is different.
also we havent told anyone we are ttc, i dont want to be questioned a billion times with "Are you pregant yet?!?" that would be super annoying. lol

Bah! Count me out!
My doc says that she likes to ask the ladies to go off the pill and onto condoms for 3 months before TTC so that we can lower the chances of spinal problems in babies.
She is also testing to see if by 'rubella' vaccination is still covering me, otherwise I have to get that vaccination again and go back on the pill for 3 months because the vaccine is bad for babies ear development. Then it would be another 3 months of off the pill with condoms before TTC.
Boo. I'm a bit disappointed but accepting the doc's advice.
Awww bummer! I've heard that you should be on prenatals for 3+ months before trying to prevent spinal problems, but I have never heard of the pill being associated with spinal problems! Hmmm.
I HAVE heard of checking for rubella. You should also ask her about the chicken pox vaccine. If she is testing to see about the rubella, she could also test to make sure you have the chicken pox antibodies. I think that is about a 3 month timeline too.
I hope these next three months pass quickly!!!!!!
thanks.
so I googled 'rubella' and see that it is the German measles. I had those when I was an infant, so I think I'm good to go with immunity for that. I have also had the chicken pox.
The pill's association with spinal problems is that it robs our bodies of folic acid. So, now that I've stopped the pill, I need to get my folic acid levels back up. Then I should be good to go.
Thanks for making the next months pass quickly.
I will enjoy the process of just being off the pill and getting to know my cycles. I may also enjoy a few more glasses of wine! :)

I am sooooo excited.
Tomorrow I have my yearly physical exam with the doctor. Then I'll get my period this week. Then we are going to start TTC. We have been talking about starting 'sometime' in the next year, but tonight, we finally decided the time is now.
Again, sooooo excited.
Do I tell my close friends? I have one or two that I plan to tell. I think that is all.
Do I get a clearblue fertility monitor or just stop taking the pill, take vitamins and give it a try?!
I'm super nervous that we won't be able to conceive. I had really really painful periods until I went on the pill 9 years ago. I never told a doctor about my pain. I plan to tell my doc about that history tomorrow because I am nervous about it maybe being endometriosis.
