Since I am dealing with this whole dress fiasco…I needed some positive happenings concerning my wedding. I got them today! I was even more surprised because today is technically a Holiday.
We were lucky enough to book the venue I have always dreamed would host my wedding reception. We booked it over a year in advance, and were lucky to get the date we wanted…they book up extremely fast. The upstairs ballroom in beautiful, the food is wonderful, and it is obviously, on a golf course. FI thinks he is going to be playing golf the morning of because we aren’t getting married until later in the day…they were all to happy to message me this morning saying they were throwing in a free round of golf for him and his groomsmen. He was joking about it last week when we met with them to finalize the wedding menu. I guess they took it seriosly, although I’m guessing there will be no complaints from him 😉
Our event cordinator that we are working with for our venue is wonderful, she let’s us feel in charge instead of telling us this is how things will be done. This morning, along with letting us know about the free round of gold, she sent over some room specs and a rough draft for me to use as a seating chart, some various pictures that I had requested…and our finalized menu! It was reall nice to get some positive news after the other day.
Our finalized menu consists of the following:
Chicken Kiev: Chicken Breast stuffed with herb butter and topped with chive cream sauce served with wild rice
Char Grilled Salmon: Char Grilled Pacific Rim Salmon with Bearnaise sauce and rice pilaf
Pasta Primavera: Fresh Vegetables Sautéed in Garlic, tossed with linguine and Alfredo sauce
The first two are served with the “chef’s choice” of vegetable, basically a fresh vegetable blend. All choices are served with salad and fresh baked bread. We are using our wedding cake as the desert. Do these choices sound ok before I message her back and approve them? We tryed to get a good mix for guests to choose from.
The room itself has wooded floors, it’s own private bar, 2 stone fireplaces, and an exposed beam ceiling. It is perfect for our Vintage Vinayrd themed wedding. I would love to hear from other Bees that have had Country Club Weddings, I don’t want my wedding to be cookie cutter with it being at a Country Club. How did you all manage to avoid this?
