    Hi Bees!

I just found out yesterday that our band backed out.  We booked them months ago and have been pestering them ever since for a contract.  They were the least professional of all the vendors we worked with, but I thought it would be worth it because they were so nice and had a great sound.  I was wrong!

So now I'm looking for a new band.  A fun band.  A reliable band.  A country cover band that can play the new stuff we love (Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood) and maybe a bit of the old rock, too (Springsteen and Jimmy Buffett).  A band is in or will travel to Northern Virginia.  And a band that is available June 14.

Any leads would be MUCH appreciated!  Thanks!

I'd call (or look at the schedule) of any local country bars up there.  I used to go to Blackies - but they tore that down years ago - I don't know what the current country bars are.  Or maybe the bands that play Cattle Annie's in Lynchburg.  Are there any country bars around Fredricksburg?  You'll at least find bands that play the music you like and you can go from there - or maybe they can point you in the correct direction??!!??

I guess some of those bands may be 'bigger' than you'd like and more expensive - but maybe they would know of smaller bands that have the same feel.

    Best of Luck!!

I don't know how much you are looking to pay for your band, but the following site seemed to have a good variety of bands and assortments.  they have samples of their songs online so that you could pre-screen them. plus they have a gig calender that shows if they are availible. Many of the bands listed seem open to traveling.

I also agree with Jilian that you might want to try some of the local country bars. also, often times local music shops would have a lead on availible groups.

     good luck!
