This might be a little old for you to remember but it is definitely old style country-Daddy's Girl by Red Sovine.
Thanks for the suggestion, I had never heard of that!!
Any other suggestions?
One suggestion is Johnny Cash's "I Love You Because." It's totally a love song, but I think you could use it for a father-daughter dance. My sister wants to!
Another might by Loretta Lyn's "They Don't Make 'Em Like my Daddy Anymore." It's a fast, upbeat one, but I think it'd be a blast to two-step with my daddy to that one!
You could also check out Conway Twitty's "That's my Job". I don't like that one quite as much because it's not as happy, but it may be more the mood/tempo for which you're looking.
I'll keep thinking, and let us know what you decide!
You could use "In my Life" by the Beatles, but play Johnny Cash's version (its slow though but really sweet)...I'm actually walking down the isle to this, but I saw on the other father/daughter song post that a few girls are dancing to "In my life" with their fathers.
I love the Loretta Lynn one, but I'll definitely to have to improve my two step skills to dance at that pace! Thanks so much for the suggestions!
I attended a wedding where the f/d dance was "You Look So Good In Love" by George Strait and it was beautiful.
depends on the relationship.... Me and my dad are dancing to Tricia Yearwoods "Shes in love with the boy" kind of croky and entertaining and not too emotional since we will be crying enough that day
How about Daddy's Hands by Holly Dunn, or Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.....or My Love is Deeper by Randy Travis.....just a few ideas...good luck and congratulations...
I am also thinking of Statler Bros, "I'll Go to My Grave Loving You," but it's a bit slower than I want. I want something upbeat, but not too fast, just b/c my two-step skills aren't good enough to dance that fast.
Any other suggestions? I am trying to decide this week, and want to play my dad a lot of options! Thanks guys!
@happilywaiting - I think I may end up choosing that one, it's so cute! And not too slow or too fast, good for matching up with my own dance skills, lol!
Also, I found a really great album on i-tunes, it's called "Every Day is Father's Day: Country Songs for Dad"

I really need your help because I can't find anything on the internet to help me here! I want to do a country two-step dance with my dad for our father-daughter dance, since he taught me country western dancing growing up. The problem is finding a song - all of the songs my dad has have nothing at all that relates to a father-daughter dance.
To be clear, I am looking for a true country-western song - think Asleep at the Wheel, Dwight Yoakam, etc. - not Rascall Flatts, Tim McGraw, etc. - don't get me wrong, i LOVE new country, but my dad hates it, so all those things are out!
