We are getting married October 2015 and I wanted opinions on if our theme flows well. Please feel free to throw out ideas and comments! I’d live to here em. Thanks y’all.
We’ll be havin it out in the woods. Groom and groomsmen will have black tuxs, camo vests, shell bouts, and boots. RB is my stepson, he is wearing the same but no jacket and he will carry the ri ng s down on a bible. I haven’t yet picked oit a dress but I like the idea of long with lace. I’ll be wearin boots too. Bridesmaids in short chocolate brown dresses and boots. FG in white and boots. She’ll be dropping leaves instead of flowers. Shotgun salute when we’re pronounced. Homestyle buffet at the reception. Bonfire and mud pit with four wheelers. I want carmel apples for the favors and vegtables and leaves lining the isle and mixed with woodsy elements for decor. Hay bales for sittin and flannel fleece blankets. Whatch y’all think? 🙂

I have no decor or ceremony advice, as this is not my style, but if you use the term “hoedown” on any of your printed material, don’t forget the “e.”

futureMrs.Owens: Def sounds like a country wedding ho down.
I think it flows together for sure. My FSIL did something very similar last fall, all of the GM and the G came in on quads. As long as your wedding represents you and your FI I think it’ll be perfect!
Congrats on setting a date and picking a theme!

It seems a little mismatched, and if that’s what you’re going for, that’s great!
Here is a picture of chocolate brown w/ black tuxes, it seems a little dark for me, but it might be perfect for you!
when you say shell bouts, are you talking shotgun shell bouts, or like actual shells? I first pictured actual shells and that would seem weird with an outdoorsy/country wedding.
I think camo vests could be really cute, but I do think there are classier versions such as :
vegetables lining the aisle could be okay or weird for me? pumkins and squash would be okay, while other not so fall vegetables would be a little strange for me.
All in all, just remember that it’s your wedding, and no matter what you do SOMEONE will have something to say about it. So do what you love!

futureMrs.Owens: I like it except for the hay bales. They get uncomfortable after a while.

Can I come?! Sounds fun…THe brown and black though…I don’t particularly like those colours together, especially after seeing the photo a PP posted.

LOVE IT!!! Depending on what area of the world you’re from make sure you take the weather into consideration, have umbrella’s, blankets, bug spray, sunscreen etc available for guests…. CAREFUL with bugspray on yours and the BM’s dresses.
If you have any elderly/physically handicapped people coming have chairs instead of the hay bales set up but have them labled for those people only.
Check out pinterest, theres tons of “tips” on there for problems that might come up.

HughJazz: Well thanks then sorry just came off rude to me, but we definetly aren’t printing that anywhere. Will be very classy, just our own style and we will be changing clothes for the muddin and bonfire too.

FI and I are invited to a wedding this weekend that is pretty much your theme! However, I have a bridal shower that afternoon and won’t be able to make it. He is still going, as she’s a co-workers of his and will be going with another co-worker and his wife.
I know that guests were asked to come in jeans and sweatshirts. The ceremony is outside at a friends house, and everyone will be sitting on haybales. The reception dinner is something smoked on a grill along with some sides. There is no dance, but rather yard games… and BYOB.
I know the guys in the wedding are wearing jeans, and I’m not sure on what she is having her attendants wear – but I’m sure it’s something casual.

futureMrs.Owens: sounds like it would all go well together. I would just make sure to somehow tell guests to bring an extra set of clothes for the mud events.
