Yeah that is weird! My cousin Jessie just married a Jesse. They were able to do some really cute things with their wedding invitations =) I bet it does get confusing though.
My uncle and his wife are Nicky and Vicky lol i always thought that was cute!
I've never seen American Beauty.
At least Jesse and Jessie are spelled differently haha!
Nicky and Vicky are cute. I knew a family that was Randy, Sandy, Mindy, Mandy... and Zach. Um, really, Andrew was not the obvious choice?
We say things like "let's invite Sam-squared to see Iron Man 2 with us tonight!" They think it's funny.
I know a couple whos names were as similar as Jamie Anderson and James Anderson.* Same last name, almost same first name. Made it easy for her to not have to change her name though! It gets confusing because both sides of the family are 'the Andersons' so you really have to pay attention when they talk about their families lol.
*not actual names.
I do not know of any couples that share a first name but like ROUX I do know a couple or two that share the same last name - like a Joe Schmoe is marrying a Jane Schmoe.
I knew a Kelly and Kelli (a man and a woman)! They're divorced now though!
i love things like this! my friend's sister is Danielle married to Daniel.
It's also weird when your partner's name is also the name of someone in your family - like a parent or sibling. My fiance has the same name as my brother and it's a little weird!
I don't know anyone with the same first name but my cousin became Kelly Kelly when she got married.
I do know a couple with the same last name but different first names, too. It's not exactly Smith, but it's a pretty common name.
I used to know a Kelly & Kelly that were married (like Ottowa bride, also a man and a woman), and I also knew a woman named Courtney who married a man whose last name was Courtney - so her married name was Courtney Courtney!
My aunt Tracey married a Tracy. She even took his last name. Finally after way too many confusing phone calls (Is Tracy there please? This is Tracey. Tracy, what a high voice you have!) my uncle finally swapped his middle name (Karl) for his first name.
For the Courtney Courtney/Kelly Kelly -- did they just take those names? Or hyphenate? Or... something else?
hermitcrab -- OK, first, I am way jealous because I soooo wanted to be Miss HC but it is too soon for me to apply to be a bee! Whew, I feel better. Now that I got that out of my system... My FI has the same name as my cousin, so I feel for you. Cousin isn't as awkard as brother, though.
My friend Ashley, dated a guy named Ashely. People would refer to them as Mr. Ashley and Miz Ashley.
I worked with a guy named Terry who was married to a Terry (so same first and last name) AND same middle initial. Which made it very confusing when they flew (TSA was not a fan of theirs).
The same initials thing doesn't help. My sister and I have the same first initial and that was enough for me to vow to find different ones for my children. If it is confusing as siblings, it has to be 10000x worse as married adults.

The couple had the same first and last name before getting married. They found each other on facebook and ended up getting married.
My cousin is Andrea and her husband is Andrew but they have both gone by "Andy" their whole lives so that can get confusing!
@moose, I was just about to post that story. It is oddly creepy though!
So..... anyone else immediately go to facebook and look themselves up like I just did?
Not looking for shirtless dudes, just cuz it's interesting: There are two more of me!
I don't know anyone with those these type of name situations, but even within the same family it can get confusing. I'm marrying a Kyle and my brother's name is Kyler. People say the wrong name all the time because they are so similar (especially my mom)! He also has three men named Donald on his side of the family which makes it harder for me to know exactly who he is refering to when talking about his relatives.
FI and I will have the same initials (first, middle and last) after we get hitched!
I had an Aunt Jo and Uncle Joe who were married. Uncle Joe passed away a while ago though. They were always my favorite people to visit because I had such fun saying their names together when I was little.

Do you know any couples in which both partners have the same name, whether same sex couples, male/female names with the same nickname, or a gender neutral name?
I used to know a Jaime and a Jamie who dated. FI's brother recently started dating someone with the same nickname. There is a lot of "hey, Sam, blah blah question?... no, not you, the other one!"
