@JuniperSage: have you considered buying a longer legnth dress and having a tailor shorten it to the legnth you want? it would be a cost effective way of getting exactly what you want.
Don't know what your budget looks like, but Dolly Couture has some super cute vintage-inspired short gowns (like this one: http://www.dollycouture.com/collection/beverlywood-vintage-wedding-dress.html )
I'm doing a couthouse wedding in May before my big church wedding the following year (Fi is military) I got a cute white dress from Davids. They have other ones, check out the site, this one was under $100 and they will ship it to you. What about doing something like this (strapless) and getting a bolero?
Here are a few (not long sleeved though.)
This one is a little longer but gorgeous - http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Printed-Organza-Gown-with-Floral-Sash-WG3313_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Silhouette-Short
& Here are some long sleeved tea length wedding dresses:

Make sure to check reviews ect about these websites!
@mrs.estep those are ALL great suggestions! I am definitely going to come back to this post when I pick out my elopement dress!!
@AirForceWife78: Yeah .. I think I might be considering the strapless option. If I did this, I'd get a faux fur bolero ... I think that would killer with a birdcage veil!
@JuniperSage: Oh, that's gorgeous! I also like PPs suggestion of altering a dress shorter if you're having trouble finding a shorter dress you like.
Theres an ivory colored lace 3/4 sleeve dress from Liz Claiborne at jcpennys that when I saw in the store I was thinking 'that would make an adorable court house wedding dress' it's has a vintage look to it, I have a link but I can't figure out how to post a pic from my iPhone, heres the link hopefully it'll work (its a moblie link so hopefully, fingers crossed it works)
Yay my first weddingbee post :)
@JuniperSage: This is one of my favorite styles right now, I just made myself one in burgundy lace. Here are a few I found, both under $100...
The length might be tricky, but I'm pretty sure ASOS has free shipping both ways, so you can always try.
Did you see this one at BHLDN? 40% off through Sunday... so $132. If you aren't into the bows, maybe they would come off cleanly?
The one you posted from modcloth was exactly what I was thinking for you. Most of their dresses do not run true to size. You would likely wear a small-medium in non modcloth land, which is what they are out of, but I'm seeing on the website that this dress runs extremely small. You could order the large and if there's a couple places it needs to be taken in then just take it to a seamstress. One reviewer said she's 5'6" and 120 lbs and the medium fit her perfectly-if that puts anything into perspective. There's free returns and exchanges so if the large didn't work then you could easily return it!! I've ordered from them before and they are pretty quick on shipping. My mom and I have had to order the size up from them several times.
I'm in the same situation! I want a vintagey, knee-length, sleeveless (but not strapless) white/ivory dress for our courthouse wedding and I'm finding it very difficult. Everything seems to be SUPER short or strapless or a bit too revealing. I've been looking at bridesmaids dresses lately instead. Have you looked on etsy? I've seen a few long-sleeve tea-length dresses in my searches.
The dress from this thread came to mind...

Lots of dresses on this site:

I just got this from banana republic and paired it with the enzoani belt from my gown. I'll be wearing it at the after party. It sounds just like what you're describing!

Hey Bees!
Now that we've decided to elope, my dress ideas have changed drastically! We're getting married at the courthouse next month! eeek. He still wants me to wear white and would love the dress be short. I was thinking a short (around the knee?), fitted, dress with boat neck and 3/4 length sleeves. A little vintage. A little curve hugging (he likes to see my figure).
Problems....
I can't find this dress ANYWHERE online :(
It's winter... Can I get away with a knee length dress and heels without tights (ew.. it's white!) ... I'm planning on buying a cute wool coat as well. I'm pairing this with a birdcage veil!
Anyone see anything like this out in fabulous interwebs? Because I searched all night and NADA. :/
Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ladies!
