My fiance is military so we want to have a courthouse marriage where we live so we can go ahead and take care of all the legal stuff and get the extra money to use for the wedding that comes with being married since I would be his dependent. We are almost done with our first deployment and it has been a nightmare taking care of things even with a Power of Attorney since we arent married. We already live together and everything. But we are from Missouri so thats where we want to have the wedding/ceremony/party whatever you want to call it.. So my question is if we get a marriage license in Oklahoma that means we are legally married and dont have to do anything in Missouri as far as paperwork correct? Please dont say anything negative or put me down for what we have chosen to do, tons of other couples have done this. If you have any tips or anything else I need to know please share. Thanks! Also we arent religious so whoever does our ceremony in Missouri probably wont be a priest or have the legal authority to do so.
