I think it is an all or nothing type thing or someone is going to be mad!
Good Luck!
This is crazy, in the same boat and from Cleveland, I have an issue with kids too. I really don't want any kids at the wedding, but the adults (close cousins) I want to attend don't have any sitters ugh...so I have already said I was going to close my eyes and deal with it!

Okay, so we were planning our adult only ceremony and reception. From the beginning I felt bad about the older children of my cousins (I have a few cousins that are a bit older with children in the 9-13 range).
Also, my father has no relatives left - Parents and siblings are deceased, so all he has is one sister-in-law, and her kids (and their kids).
Well one of my cousins on my father's side is a single mom of a near 13 year old girl. She got a "and guest" and is bringing her daughter. This cousins' sister and her husband are not able to find sitters for their kids, so either they bring the kids or they can't come (remember, these are the precious few of my father's relatives)...
So I caved, and told them that we'd rather have them there, then not have kids there... I felt like we were stuck.
Now I feel like my cousins on my mother's side, that stuck to the "adult only" theme, are going to be angry with me!
Anyone else dealing with this?
