I'm not sure what kit you have, but you should paint the sign blue, then apply the crackle coat, then apply the white paint. Make sure you give each step the correct drying times.

so i am making weathered wood signs. The crackle medium says to apply base coat, then apply medium, then apply contrasting top coat. If I want the sign to be white but have the cracks be blue which color do I apply as the base and which do I apply as the top coat?
