I’m trying to make paper ivy, to go in my bouquet and the centerpieces, to go with all of my paper flowers.
That being said, im at a stand still, because i dont want to have to hand wrap all of that wire with floral tape, i dont like silks, and i havent come up with any other idea
i considered paper twine, briefly, except for the fact that i need it to have some kind of stability, like a light weight wire in it

Have you tried a different type of floral wire? Michael’s sells paper-wrapped floral wire that kinda looks like really stiff twine, but it’s a heavier gauge than regular floral wire.
ETA: You could also try to find a wire ribbon to match the color of your ivy, which may be a bit easier to work with. I’ve seen some thinner wire ribbon styles before that could work.

@futuremrswood25: You can buy paper wrapped floral wire, also green floral wire. Either one would work. You can get the green wire on spools, not just single lengths.

fingers crossed that i can find a spool of paper wrapped! it would be the best option.
i keep trying to mastermind a way to create everything the way i need it to be.
i considered the painted floral wire. i’d probably want it in brown though. which is more realistic, and the green is so fakey :/

@julies1949: i like that, but i think its too thick.
i hate my compulsive desire for realism. its been a problem on more than one occasion
