That is horrible! Like you said - whether he is or he isn't, she's not protected from all of the anger the public has. Very sad.
Oh wow, i totally missed that news story - there was a CraigsList killer? Do you have a link to an article?
Ohhhh that is so sad. I really hope for her sake that he did not do those horrible things. She must be so devistated. I hope that she has a strong family to rely on.
I don't know if this is the best source for news, but I saw the story on AOL. It turns my stomach to think about being in her situation, whether it's true or a wrong accusation.
There is a story on Boston.com that names her. My first thought this morning was how awful it must be to be engaged and/or married to someone and have this happen. My second thought was that she was probably on the knot and maybe even a bee here. The former is definitely true, although they seem to have thankfully taken down their website, the latter I can only guess about. I just can not even begin to imagine what her and her family are going through and regardless of her fiance's guilt or innocence, for people to attack the fiance is just incredibly insensitive and heartless. It truly makes me ill.
Ugh how awful!
The Craigslist Killer was finding women who were posting ads for personal services (one was a masseuse, one was a dancer?) and then murdering them or attempting to murder them. He was a 23 year old med student or something.
It makes me sick to think there are people out there in this world like this. His parents must feel awful, knowing they brought him into this world.
Can you imagine being his fiancee right now?? She thought she knew this creep. My heart goes out to her...
Hmmm, that is crazy but I have to say that if I were marrying a man with such a notorious reputation, there's no way I would create a public website on The Knot or anywhere else. It's almost like she is ASKING to be publicly criticized. Again, whether he is guilty or not, you would have to be nuts to think he isn't going to be publicly criticized.
I'm going to guess that their wedding website was created long before all of this came to light...This is just awful, my heart goes out to her.
Here is an article http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517219,00.html
I would have to agree that their website was created before this stuff happened.
I feel horrible for her - how scary if it is true and he is guilty. Can you imagine loving someone you thought was this hard working med student only to find out he is a cold blooded killer? Some people are just so sick.
I saw it on GMA today - they showed two pictures - the first one showed her face, the second one they blurred her out. He looks so normal.
Their site is still up I believe (or at least I can still access it and there are more comments than when I saw it this morning). It's probably not the first thing on her mind. Although if I heard about it on the news, hopefully someone close to her did too and will get it taken down or at least password protected.
I don't think she made this site after his arrest.
Their site said they got engaged in May 08 and their wedding was/it Aug 09. So they had their venue, registries, hotel rooms, etc. all planned (the wedding's only 4 months away) before his arrest this week.
I just can't imagine being in her position. I'm glad they took the site down. There was so much venom, hate and anger being directed at BOTH of them.

My heart goes out to her. I can just imagine that while the entire search was going on she was watching the news with her FI commenting about how crazy the killer is, and now her FI is the one being accused. It just makes me think of how easily this could happen to anyone of us here- we all think we know our FI's but if they have a secret, it is just that, a secret.
Friendly reminder- The suspect is innocent until proven guilty. Just because he has been arrested, it doesn't mean that he actual did anything criminally wrong.
Oh, I hadn't realized they were engaged for so long. I wasn't familiar with the story. But still, someone close to her has got to know that the page is up, even if its not on her mind for her OWN privacy I hope someone deletes it, closes it, something.
Well, if she is on weddingbee...
we are all thinking about you and praying for you!
Ditto, heathaah. I hope she's getting some good support. My heart really breaks for her.
I just did some reading up on this- even though I'm in Boston, I've been so busy with school and stuff that I've only mildly followed the story. My heart goes out to her too. I can't imagine- talk about the rug being yanked out from under your feet- even if he ends up being found innocent there goes the happy engagement. Poor girl. Also, I don't know how people can direct such hatred toward her. Do you really think she'd have been engaged to him if she knew he was doing things like that (IF he was, I should say)? Or even capable of it? People can be so narrow-minded... have some sympathy for the girl, gosh.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Ugh. I just heard on the news that the man arrested for being the Craigslist killer is engaged to be married this August. The press (and numerous other people) have even found their wedding website on theknot.com. I just saw their site and the guest book has been hijacked by strangers writing HORRIBLE things about both of them.
My heart is just breaking for her. She's standing by him- saying he's not the killer, they are still planning to get married. Whether he is or not, it's horrible. If he did it, can you imagine finding out your FI is a killer? If he's innocent, can you imagine having your FI wrongly accused of such a horrible crime?
In any case, their wedding plans are ruined because their knot site isn't password protected and now the date, time, and location of their wedding (registry info, everything!) is public knowledge. I wouldn't trust that the wedding wouldn't be disrupted.
I feel so sorry for her.
