Anyone else get some very mild cramping in their third trimester? I don’t think they are BH contractions because my stomach doesn’t harden or feel like it’s contracting at all. They just feel like very mild menstrual cramps and happen a few times a day and don’t last all that long. Baby has been really active so she seems to be happy whatever is going on. I have my next doctors appointment on thursday so I’ll mention it to them then but everything I mention to them seems to be kinda brushed off as ‘oh that’s fine, you’re pregnant’ without any other info being given.

When I had contractions, even in active labor, my stomach never got hard. I always heard you’d know you were having Braxton Hicks because your stomach would tighten/get hard but it wouldn’t hurt. Not that way for me at all, lol! 🙂 My doctor said I was having Braxton Hicks, but it felt like menstrual cramps to me, and my stomach never got hard. They came and went for several hours a day in my last 2-3 weeks, and were often timeable between 7 and 10 minutes apart. Actually, my labor contractions felt really similar to my Braxton Hicks only, obviously, a lot more painful.

When I had cramping like I was having a period, it turned out that I was in labor lol…it started around 2pm and my water broke around 7pm…

My braxton hicks contractions have been just like that ….period cramp like and not much hardening. At first I didn’t know if they were braxton hicks or not but my doctor finally assured me that they were.

Thanks for the info ladies, the doctor today said it was BH also.
I’m starting to think though it might just be her getting into weird positions because it tends to happen more frequently on her more active days and there’s nothing intermittent about the discomfort. It’s just constant and lasts for 5 minutes to an hour and then just disappears and doesn’t come back for a few hours or days. It’s just frustrating, I want to listen to my body but I’m not sure what it’s trying to tell me.
