On this thread, the topic moved to crashers.  So I want to know...

    Did you have them?

What will you do if uninvited people show up?

What could I do?  I fed them, danced with them, hugged them and celebrated with them.   They were friends who loved us enough to crash our wedding :)

Just a couple...and luckily they showed up after dinner! So I said what the heck, it's open bar - have a couple drinks and enjoy yourself! At that point I didn't care anymoreSmile

I think I would have been pretty upset if we had univinted people show up.  We didn't have any crashers (at least for the dinner part of the evening), thankfully.

It was kind of funny because a friend of my husband's was actually having his wedding reception down the hall at the same venue.  He and his wife came down to say hello (which we did, too).  Everyone was laughing at having 2 brides and 2 grooms in the same room.  At one point, a couple of their friends came down to our reception and were dancing.  I saw them from across the room and knew right away that they didn't belong at our wedding.  They were just dancing, not eating and drinking at least. ;)

After reading the stories on here, I brought the issue up with family to see what they thought and my older brother commented that he wanted to be our bouncer... I thought he was kidding but he's dead serious. I might just take him up on the offer. He also said he wouldn't let any female guest in if they were wearing a long white dress - he'd make them go change. And my brother is quite intimidating in person so we'll just see how this all goes...

I might actually "invite" a couple of crashers to mine.  There are a couple people that we probably won't invite, and they won't mind (like a friends brother, etc.) but we'll mention that if they want to stop by after dinner they're more than welcome!

@starburst- we've mentioned having a bouncer at our wedding too! there's been many threats of crashers, just because there's only 30 people invited to the ceremony so my sister's roommate volunteered to be the bouncer. i kinda want to take her up on that.

my brother had crashers at his wedding, random people that just wanted to check out the wedding and my mom invited them in. my brother thought they were with his wife, his wife thought they were with my brother. they made it in a lot of the pictures too, it was pretty funny.

My parents had a wedding crasher. They had their reception at the hotel ours will be at. My great grandmother was s<span style="font-size: 6pt; color: black; font-family: Verdana;">chizophrenic and the guy that came in, sat right down at her table and started talking to her. It was the same table my grandparents were at. My grandparents watch them for a few moments and he asked my grandmother if he could dance with her mother. He had already had a few frosty beverages so he was already in a party kind of mood. He spent the entire evening dancing with her! My grandmother was so greatful that her mother was having such a good time that they let him stay. She said that even in her condition, for days my great-grandmother kept asking to go dancing with that nice young man who smelled like bad cologne and whiskey!

That is great nhlchick! If somone came in and made my grandma that happy I would let them stay!

I really hope that we dont have crashers. There would be some situations that I would allow, but I really dont see them happening. Like if someone was out of the country and RSVPed no and then happened to show up...I would be totally over the moon happy...

But seriously, my dad, friends, and other family members have already told me that if someone shows up that I do not want there then they will have no problem throwing them out. The only reason that this came up is because of me and my FH working at the local bars.  Every place we go in town we see someone that "knows" us from work and they all know we are getting married and then all ask where and when invites will be sent out.  It gets rather annoying at times, but luclily I can just tell them I have a while and havn't figured it out yet, while in realily they are designed and ready to print.... I just have this nagging feeling that one of the bar owners who are invited with display our invite or STD and someone will see it and just show up... At least we have a lot of military and a couple law enforcement in our family... They all look intimidating and have no problem making people do what they want and telling them how it is.
