I worked at Crate and Barrel for 4 years in college and although it’s possible my information is slightly outdated, my friends that still work there so I don’t think so.
First, C&B has a very liberal return policy with regard to registries. especially if you still have the gift reciepts.
C&B will send you a 20% cupon for the remaining items on your registry a few weeks after your wedding. If you ask, you can add new items to the registry that weren’t avalible before to recieve that discount (though the items MUST be on the registry).
It is not uncommon for newlyweds to come in with thousands of dollars in returns. If possible be curtious to your clerks and try and return these items during the week instead of the busy weekend, and with plenty of time before closing.
Also, you can’t get cash for returns more than $100; however, for those items you have reciepts for (even gift reciepts for registry returns), they can mail you a check instead of store credit. They really don’t like doing this, though, so you may have to be a little insistant about it.
Hope this is helpful.
