I had no problem finding lots of corset dresses. Where are you looking? Also, some makers will allow you to order the dress as a lace-up back instead of a zipper. You need to have your salon call the dress maker. Keep in mind that simply converting a zipper to a lace-up does not necessarily make it a corset. A true corset has some type of boning in it to make it stiff and push you up; therefore, for a true corset look you will need to purchase a corset dress. Click HERE to see a picture of my corset dress by Maggie Sottero.
I really like adelaide (maggie sottero) There were 3 dresses that I LOVE, but I think would fit better with a lace up. My waist is about 2 sizes smaller than my bust. If I could have the russian woman who probably bruised my ribs lacing me up, that would be great.
I'm not so concerned with the boning, because I would wear heavy duty garments. I just didn't know the logistics of converting.
Since the dress you love is a Maggie Sottero, I think you'd have no problem ordering it in a corset style, since so many of her dresses already have a corset back. See if the dress shop can put in a phone call to them to ask about it!
I have had my Allure Gown 8318 converted from zipper back to corset and now I love the fit!
this generally isn't a problem.
i've got superboobage ( this gives me special hero like powers, lol) and I was all over the corset style gown. I found a strapless zippered gown that fit all the criteria i was looking for except the corset back. So the shop called the manufacturer and for an additional $150, they are making my dress into a lace up style. (also an Allure gown, 8150, hi scheri!)
i know many alterationists can do this for you as well. i looked into it. i plan to order a seperate corset and roll with it.....
GL!

I'm a little busty and found that corset dresses work best for me. A lot of dresses were zippered. Has anyone heard of changing a zippered dress to a corset? In my head, it seems easy but I don't sew.
