i haven't lived in LA/Westwood there but I used to visit my friends at UCLA - it's a great/fun neighborhood, you'll have a blast in LA.
I dont have any advise, except start saving now b/c you'll be spending more money in LA as opposed to Ann Harbor =)

I've enjoyed the past year living in Upland, CA but am excited about moving closer to the beach. FI did his undergrad & a year of research at Pomona College...I moved out here for the year of research since I was tired of ldr.
@finallygettingmarried, CA is sooo expensive compared to Texas (where we both grew up)! Everyone keeps telling me that the living in Westwood will be lots of fun, good to hear it confirmed from a bee!
Um, MAJOR "boo hoo". I am happy that time got cut off of his PhD but I am so bummed! :( And I'm glad you updated us, I was wondering where you've been
@VirginiaMarie, you know what this means right?! You need to escape the cold and come to the beach! (or come over the summer, our place is 15 min away from the beach!)

Sorry I haven't been around much this week but things have been insane! Monday FI went to UCLA to interview for a fellowship. Wednesday we found out that he got the fellowship. We totally didn't expect he would get this and now all of our plans have changed. I'm really proud of FI and it means his PhD is done in 4 years instead of 5 BUT it really stresses me out that everything is completely upside down. All of our plans are changing. Luckily it doesn't affect any of our wedding plans. Lets hope there are no more surprises!
To all of the Ann Arbor Bee's...thank you so much for all of your advice and help when we thought we were moving to A2.
