Mr. D is wonderful at spitting out ridiculous ideas. The only two I can think of right now:

1.) All the guests should be instructed to wear thrift store clothing from the ’70s.

2.) All the groomsmen should wear blue sparkly suits.

Pretty much everything he says, I have to ask if he’s joking or not. πŸ˜›

@mattsgirl813:  Haha, our photographer has a video on his website of the couple leaving on a helicopter…it was cool, but I imagine it was a very expensive exit!

At first we wanted a huge winter wonderland theme–until we realized we are in Dallas, it will be 70 degrees with no snow, and we’re on a super limited budget. I remember I had this picture saved of these amazing 3+ foot tall crystal tree centerpieces…at the time I had no idea that could add up to thousands of dollars we didn’t have πŸ™‚

My FH decided he wanted to wear steampunk and we’re running with it! We met at the theatre so it definitely fits our relationship!

FI wanted a Krispy Kreme donut cake:

He wanted to wear a monocle and cape.

Oh and he wanted waiters to pass around mini double downs at the reception.

It would be funny, if he were joking.

I’ve said no to all these ideas. I did agree to let him wear a morning suit if he wants to.

I was going to have a ping pong table at our wedding so people could play beer pong at the reception.  Looking back, I’m really glad I didn’t do that.  I know it would have been fun but it would have taken away from the reception and the beauty of the venue.

@Luayne:  Thats what we’re doing too, although ours is evolving to be more neo victorian than full blown steampunk lol  I will be wearing white but my bridesmaids are in purple with silver and black corsets πŸ˜€

FI wanted to have a mic and just let anyone and everyone who wants to make a speech stand up and give a speech whenever they want.  When i pointed out that then there wouldn’t be any music, he gave up on the idea πŸ™‚

I think my best crazy idea so far is to put a secret parachute on the toss bouquet (by the way, that project is still ongoing and progress is being made!)

I’m also considering a “ring the bell, take a shot” arrangement like we have at Fi’s and my running club (it’s an interesting running club). If any member of the bridal party rings a bell into the DJ’s mike, everyone has to take a shot of something. Could be water, could be beer, could be merlot, could be Jack … but you have to take a shot! I picture a sort of musical chairs moment as everyone runs off the dance floor to take their shot and then runs back to right where they were! Might have to limit it to only Fi and I that can ring the bell though or things could get out of hand πŸ˜‰

I actually love the donut cake… maybe for a grooms cake though. I think I am going to do that now. I also love the parchute bouquet idea.

My fiance keeps suggesting crazy things. He wants to give everybody confetti eggs for the exit. 100 people smashing confetti eggs on my head? No thank you! He also wants a pinata (I’ll probably let him have that though).

FI and one of his groomsmen decided that it would be excellent if said groomsmen continued to grow out his facial hair and were to grace the reception with a loincloth and Viking helmet.

I’m a little terrified because FI has mentioned more than once that he’d like to pick out the men’s formalwear…
