Would I respond like that? Absolutely. You were straight to the point without namecalling or being a brat. It is just not acceptable for anyone to be rude to someone, especially for no reason at all, as seemed to be the case with her. More than once I have confronted vendors / employees / servers for being awful. I’ve never yelled or anything like that, but I have stated in clear terms that such behavior is unacceptable when I have done nothing to deserve it.

At the very least, maybe she’ll take the reality check for what it is and try harder in the future. Maybe she won’t. And if she doesn’t, then that’s her problem, but you’ve stood up for yourself and for others she’s been rude to who haven’t said anything.

I wouldn’t send that to her, if you haven’t already. Yeah, she was not very polite, but just move on.  Just because she was rude doesn’t mean you have to be rude in return. I know it’s really frustrating and I can understand wanting to wring that lady’s neck, but don’t do it. Be the bigger person. Find someone else.

I agree with Torrid, I don’t see what good an email like that would do. I understand your frustration with her – but I think she would just write you off as a bridezilla if she received that email (not because you are, but because that’s what she would think).

I would just let it go, and maybe respond with, “Thank you for your time, but after speaking with you I had already decided to pursue other options.”

@BellaDee:  Unfortunately this vendor wasn’t a good match for you.  I wouldn’t bother sending a scathing reply – no good will come of it.

I wouldn’t send it, it’s not like you booked with her than she became a whacko. You two just didn’t click, no harm done on either side so I say move on.

I don’t think any good can come from sending the email.

Also, I don’t know how big of an area you are from, but there is a good chance she knows the other florists in the area and if she makes you sound difficult to work with you could end up hurting yourself.

I say send it.  Maybe it will make them rethink their poor business practices

What a DINK! I think I was spoiled with my florist – she did all 5 bouquets and 12 boutonnieres for under $400 (including taxes and delivery), everything she did was GORGEOUS, and I had such friendly banter back and forth with her during planning that she thanked ME for being such a pleasure to work with and asked that we send her a wedding picture!

I LOVE LOVE LOVED her!

I’d totally send the note because she might actually be completely unaware of how she is/acts. It might give her a wake-up call and maybe she won’t lose any more customers. But then, I’m a big believer in giving feedback – both good AND bad!

Where is your wedding? I had a fabulous experience w/Murphy’s Flower Shop in Poughkeepsie. My budget was around the same as yours and I got everything I wanted and more and came in under budget.

E-mails are so easily deleted, send it if you want to, but don’t expect a BIG reaction…
