I work for a web site that produces content on kids, and I’ve actually addressed an article around this subject in the past. I’ve read through…i can’t even say how many ideas out there.
I plan to have a custom-made tumbler from CafePress when I announce a pregnancy to my husband – “Daddy-to-Be.” After he opens a bottle of…concord grape juice? We’re wine drinkers, so I figure it would be a nice way to introduce it all.
What about the rest of you?

For Darling Husband:
I pick Darling Husband up for work almost every day so I had this sitting on the passenger seat when he got in.
It say: If I’m going to get fat, SO ARE YOU
For everyone else:
A week after finding out we were having family pics taken SO I had a photog take a shot similar to this:
(We don’t have pets & already have 2 kids SO ours will be Me, older DS, little Dirty Delete, Darling Husband with a pair of gray converse in the very middle and rather than an exact edd it will just say the month & year)
I seriously can’t wait to get it (any day now)

Such cute ideas!!! I found out 5 days before Christmas and gave little shirts to Darling Husband and Dirty Delete.Than we had a party to watch our wedding video with our close family and friends and this was at the end of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roVKZeUTBhk&list=FL3MYl3mpuOfogApGOA2D3BA Very silly but Darling Husband loves horror movies and our friend, who shot our wedding, was so into the idea. It turned out great!

Darling Husband was with me when the 2nd line appeared.
This was our FB announcement (it’s actually us and I knitted the booties myself):

@ScottishMrs: I love your announcement! so sweet and simple, I may be stealing this idea;-)

I put this spoon in his cereal.
And my announcement for everyone else was just my 20w bump pic as a profile photo. Most people I am close to/family already knew from us telling them in person around 14w or so.

@runsyellowlites: That card for your Darling Husband is precious. Where did you ever find that?

@laa320: You’re very welcome to! That’s a huge compliment to me :). I actually stole the idea from here, which I found on pinterest and just learned has no story, just a picture. We didn’t use the word “arriving” though because we all know babies almost never show up on their due date!

Aww, these are such cute ideas!
The blog where I found my favorite announcement idea appears to be down or unavailable or something, so I can’t post a link, but it was the cutest announcement I’ve ever seen – she had a photographer friend in on it, and they told their families that they were going to have the photographer take family photos.
So all the families (parents, siblings, nieces/nephews, etc.) were there, and they brought a cute framed chalkboard and took a bunch of pictures with the chalkboard, writing “The Johnsons” and “The Smiths” etc. on the frame depending on which family was taking photos. Then they did photos in smaller groups (each sibling with his/her spouse and kids if they had them) and wrote “The Whatevers” on the chalkboard for each of them (there were a lot of daughters in the family, so each little group had a different last name), and when it got time for the couple announcing the pregnancy to take their photo, they wrote “The Lastnames + Baby” on the chalkboard and everyone was really excited and the photographer got photos of all the surprised faces and the hugging and such. Absolutely adorable!

We used a picture of us at a recent baseball game with the field in the background. At the top, we added text that said:
Tickets to the game: $50.00
Hot Dogs: $12.00
Realizing there are three people in this photo: PRICELESS!
We sent it to our extended families and they all loved it.

Him: I just shoved the pee stick in his sleeping face. He told me the moment he finished he “did his magic.”
Them: We got my parents these mugs and video taped them opening it then put it on FB

@MrsEagleEye: What a GREAT announcement! Seriously love that idea!
@aliciapdx: Those are so cute too! Love that they’ll be able to keep & use them for the years to come! Neat idea!!!
@CookieCreamCakes: We finally got our official announcement that we shared with everyone yesterday (I loved it so much I just couldn’t wait)… I thought I’d come back & share!

I met my hubs for lunch and pretty much just waved the pee stick in his face, so nothing creative there. For the grandparents we gave them a rattle with the due date on it and put the u/s pic in a frame that said “Love at First Sight”. Our Facebook announcement was a photoshopped pic of me and hubs on the Maury Show that said “Mr. Redhead You ARE the Father”
