I like the idea of posting something in Alchemy. I've done that a few times, and I usually get a huge response with a bunch of good possible options!
Would you recommend I put pretty much exactly what I just put here? Like the back story and the phrase and all that? Should I bee more detailed than not? Thanks!
This is a little more traditional, but have you thought about getting a pair of beer glasses etched with that phrase? Things Remembered has beer steins (steins? are they called steins? i always drink straight from the bottle, lol)... Check these out:
Wow texaslawgirl, that is a really great idea! I hadn't even thought about something like that, see that's why I knew asking here would be helpful! Thanks!
I think it would be cute to have an up close picture taken of a glass of beer and your hand pouring more beer into his glass (with your left hand with your engagement ring showing)! If you could do it in the same place in the same spot I think it would be perfect!!
To me a picture is better than words and then you could frame it with a nice matte and frame - ooh and maybe do it in black and white?
Man I WISH I could do it in the same spot... unfortunately that spot is in Japan. Maybe I could use it as a nice excuse to go back "Sorry honey, just gotta take a little trip, be back... later!"
But I like the idea of the picture with my engagement ring showing. I wonder if I could get someone (pro? is that too small a job?) to photograph that for me, I could try to recreate the scene in any case. Thanks!
Eh - It's just Japan - just pop over there for a picture
I think I might try and do a combo of all three ideas. I want to see if I can get something painted that re-captures the feel of that night from etsy, buy two of those beer glasses that say my phrase: one in English and one in French (he is a native French Speaker) or one saying "she poured..." and "I poured" so we have his and hers, not decided on this yet. Then I will take a picture or have a pic taken of me pouring beer in his glass, with my engagement ring focused on, and frame the photo next to the art. He is gonna swoon! I hope!
Thanks girls! I am super excited now!
Wow, so I did an Etsy alchemy post and was overwhelmed with responses. I have narrowed it down to three or four... but I have no idea how to choose! Its so hard to turn peoples' ideas down, too! But I am kind of psyched about a couple of these proposals, I think they'll look great! I am gonna get the beer glasses, too. Yay!

Hi all bees! You are all so creative and I thought maybe some objective advice could help me out here.
My FI and I met at an organized event where were placed on a team together to answer trivia questions. He tells me all the time that he fell in love with me that night because when it was nearly time (ok... PAST time) to go he got up to go to the bathroom and I poured half of my beer in his glass. We had just met a couple hours previous, he says that me making such an "intimate" move, like I knew him so well that I could just pour the beer I was already drinking out of into his glass, made him think I was "the one."
He is romantic. I just did it because I didn't want to waste my beer and knew I couldn't drink the whole thing so fast. But I find this part of him to be very endearing.
Now to the part I need help with: I want to get him a gift that will be something to remember that. He always says he wants to write a book called "...And Then She Poured Her Beer in My Glass." I thought I could use this phrase as a focal point in a piece of art or photography... but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas?? Should I post on Etsy Alchemy? I have never tried that, the wedding is in 30 days, am I cutting it too close??
Thanks!
