We got a lot of wonderful things for the wedding but there is one gift I just can’t figure out what to do with. A Tiffany’s crystal champagne cooler. While it’s lovely, I’m not sure when we would ever use it so I’m wondering if you creative Bees have any ways to turn it into a decorative item. Like could I float flowers in it or fill it with glass pebbles or . . . I really have no clue.
I would think about an exchange but they didn’t include the receipt and I’m not sure what in that price range we’d actually use but if anyone knows about their exchange policy that would be helpful too.

I use my ice buckets all the time as vases–they work particularly well for a low, full cluster of flowers. You could also do floating candles in there or a ton of jelly beans or other candy for a buffet.
I think Tiffany does have a pretty good return policy, though–and you might be able to get a nice bowl or platter if that’s more useful to you.

Thanks, what kind of flowers do you use. I know hydrageas seem like they might work as the low, bushy flowers but they’re not too long lived… any good ones you use?

For a wide mouth bucket I like big, round blossoms–daisies, tea roses, camellias–mainly because you can get by with fewer flowers. With tulips, roses, or calla lillies you need a lot more stems for it to look full enough.

I agree with the other ladies, this would make a fabulous, dramatic vase. You could always try to take it to Tiffany’s and get a credit; maybe you could buy yourself some jewelry with it! ;D Also, I know at least some of their frames run in $100 – $150 range; you could buy a really beautiful one to display a precious wedding memory in.
