My 2 friends and I are attending a Bridal Shower for a close friend of ours at the end of September. She lives approx 12 hours away and is coming “home” for the shower. She is driving back and forth instead of flying.
Her shower invite requested the gifts be in plain view so she doesn’t have to send time unwrapping items. I don’t feel comfortable giving cash.
Any suggestions of CREATIVE gift ideas that would not be too bulky to drive back home? She lives in NC.
Thanks for everyone’s help in advance 🙂

One of my favorite bridal shower gifts is a tote bag that they can use for the day of the wedding, and for travel on their honeymoon. I usually order custom matching luggage tags one in a manly color and one in girly, off etsy, and stuff it with goodies like just married flip flops, a bride tank top, or what have you. Another idea is a picnic basket or picnic cooler and you can put wine, salami, crackers, everything for a picnic but the cheese pretty much, inside of it.

@MrsJKH2be: hmmm odd request but ok! Gifts are my thing! What are her hobbies likes and dislikes? For my bridesmaids I bought decrotive boxes from a craft store. For one ( my lovely lush lol) I bought little bottlesof nice vodka, one flavoured one plain and one with a jewel in the bottle. Those are going to rest on a knitted scarf im almost done with and I will be making a pretty scarf pin to go with it. I think boxes of smaller meaningful things are way more fun than one big generic thing

Is she registered anywhere? She might have some smaller things on her registry!
A nice set of sheets for her bed should be pretty compact. I had a bridal shower close to my parents’ house that was a 3 hour drive for me… and I got a lot of traditional bulkier items like cookware but didn’t have trouble packing up the car to get home.

@KatieBklyn: I wanted to stay off the Registry. I know the registry is there for a reason, but I like to give unexpected (but also useful) gifts.
Example: The Bride and the same two girls I am going in on w/ the gift gave me a very awesome gift for my Bridal Shower. They gave me a wine rack w/ 6 different bottles of wine. Attached to each bottle was a tag w/ a poem/saying that addressed different milestones of a marriage in which the bottle can be enjoyed. They also gave me an assortment of candles/candle holders which I love.

Print off the picture of her gift, and have it sent to her home, or set it up for in-store pickup.

@MsJ2theZ: Super Cute! My mother did this for me and all my wedding attendants for the day of the wedding!
@Little_Hedgy: thanks for the suggestion
