DH and I will be TTC in the summer and of course I’m always planning thing way ahead of time. Did anyone do anything creative to tell DH about the pregnancy? I’m assuming I will probably just yell and squeel which would probably give things away, but I’d love to have something in mind just in case I can muster enough willpower to do so.
DH is a huge football (49er fan) as well as wine/whiskey/beer lover. My original thought was to say “I finally got you the 49’ers jersey you’ve wanted!” and hand him a baby version of a jersey.
Tell me what you did, if anything!

Someone I know made a little cardboard oven and placed a small bun in it to give to their husband. I thought it was adorable!

ADiamondInTheRough: LOL im TTC right now and was planning too! Lol so im commenting to follow!
I kinda want to surpise my DH but he keeps telling me that he wants to be there when I take the test! /: and doesn’t want me keeping it a secret, haha he wants to know everything. But I might just be sneaky and just do it anyway! Hahaha

That is a really cute idea!
With my first pregnancy I just ran downstairs to show him the positive pregnancy test. That pregnancy ended in m/c.
With my second pregnancy I managed to keep the news quiet for a few hours and at dinner gave DH a card. The front said “Status update: PREGNANT!” And the inside said something cute like this is the first of many new status updates or something. I felt kinda superstitous about doing a cute thing for it, but in the end I’m glad I did… I’m almost 34 weeks!

With our first, I bought a really cute little cow infant’s hat (DH likes cows for whatever reason) and I put it in a gift bag with the pregnancy test and gave it to him when he got home from work.
For our second, I put DD in a “Big Sister” t-shirt for DH to see – you guessed it – when he got home from work.

ADiamondInTheRough: I LOVE the idea of the jersey! We’re not going to TTC till next fall, but I’ve been thinking about this too. Planners unite! Ha
Similar to your idea I want to do something personalized, he FI is a pilot so I was thinking;
I’m sure he’d get it haha. Then for telling his family I want to get him this shirt to wear around to a family dinner and wait for people to figure it out haha

My husband likes trying new whiskeys so I bought him a bottle of this whiskey he had wanted to try but kept passing up since it was quite a bit more expensive then others. I put the bottle on top of the positive test and the book “Dude, youre going to be a dad”.

It took us two years of TTC before I finally got a positive test. About a year in, I thought I might be, but never got that BFP and AF showed up right on time. Thinking I was, though, I bought a onesie that says “This Shirt is Daddy-Proof” with little arrows and labels pointing to the holes for the head, arms, etc. Then it sat unopened in the closet for a year.
I finally got my BFP late one night after we’d gotten home from a movie. I had planned to test in the morning, (AF was a couple days late), but I figured since I had to pee anyway….I was surprised to see that second line! I immediately started debating if I should tell DH then or in the morning. I decided on that night, so I put the onesie on his pillow. He walked into the bedroom while I was still brushing my teeth and froze in the doorway when he saw it. “What’s that?”
I played dumb. “What’s what?”
“What do you think it is?”
“I got a positive test about half an hour ago.” Then he came and gave me a big hug. In hindsight, I wish I would have waited for morning, because he barely slept that night in his excitement and panic. LOL!

We are ntnp and I have totally thought about this way more than I should. DH is an avid hunter and I found this baby bib that looks like a camo hunting vest that says “Daddys Hunting Buddy” and plan to get it for him.

I was so shocked when I got my BFP last week that all my cute ideas flew out the window and I just ended up making him a cute card and propping it up over the pregnancy test. When he got home from work he saw it, but I had to interpret what the test meant for him, haha!
One of my original ideas could easily be used for your hubby, though! Make a shirt for yourself that says “FUTURE 49ers FAN” with an arrow pointing down to your belly in the team’s colors. Then just wait for your hubby to get what it means!

ADiamondInTheRough: Im currently pregnant with our first, due in December. When i found out we really werent expecting it. I tested after he left for work in the morning and to my shock it was positive. On my lunch break that day I went and bought a onesie of his favorite hockey team, and pie from our favorite bakery for dessert that night. I put the onesie in the bag with the pie. After dinner i asked him to go grab the pie so we could eat it, and he found the onesie and quickly figured out what that meant.
If we have a second child I plan to empty out his sock/underwear drawer and fill it with diapers.

- Wedding: April 2014 - Italian Villa
DH loves Star Wars, and we have been cooing over the adorable little ewok baby costumes we have seen, so someday when I’m pregnant, I’ll probably get one of those (good for both genders!)
(Not my photo- snagged from Google)

My DH always does cute things and one day he got me an ice cream cake that said #1 Wife, so I’m thinking of getting him a cake that says #1 Dad! (If it ever happens!!) and it’s something we’ll both enjoy lol
