I would not put anything on a credit card unless I could pay it off when the statement comes every month.

I put it all on whatever gives the most back and then pay it off every month. That way no debt and you get the benefit of points or cash back or whatever.

I’m putting every single item I can on a credit card. I pay it off every month and the miles/points I got have been phenomenal, they paid for our honeymoon.

I don’t think you should put anything wedding related on a card, but I put a lot of my little items that I purchased online (cake topper, bouquet charm, etc) on my credit card so I could have some recourse if something went wrong (like fraud or a crappy product).

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy:I agree.

If you can/will pay it off every month then I’d put it on the card that gives the most back.

I didn’t put anything on a card that I couldn’t pay off right away. However the really big things we put on our amex so we could earn the points for travel rewards.

You can put anything you want on, AS LONG AS YOU CAN PAY IT OFF at the end of the month.

I agree with PP to only put something on a CC if you intend to fully pay it off when the statement comes. We are putting everything we can on one of FI cards that gives the most cash back

We put everything we could on one (the venue and caterer charged us more to use credit since the cards charge them a 3% processing fee). BUT, we paid it off in FULL every single month, and didn’t pay a cent in interest. We got a free airplane ticket out of it, so it was totally worth it to us!

I have a rewards card for airline mileage. I put everything for the wedding on my credit card BUT I also pay the entire balance each month. I hate the idea of paying interest so I have never had a carry-over balance.
