Maybe depends who sent it . . . photographer, videographer, florist, key vendor = sweet and thoughtful.
Waitstaff from catered affair who you didn't even know was there = creeeeeepppyyyyy!
Maybe I'm jaded because I work in marketing but....I would probably think that they were trying to 'remind' me about them so I recommended them to any of my friends that were getting married.
I would think that is good marketing/networking -- not creepy, but not so much thoughtful, either, since they're probably doing it for their own benefit (like AmandaRyan suggested)!
It pretty much equates to sending your clients christmas cards. Nice, but also a reminder that they're out there, and to tell your friends! Definitely not "creepy" however :)
Truly thoughtful if it included a personal, handwritten message that clearly indicated they remembered your specific wedding.
Neither if it is a marketing effort. Well, I guess it is a*little* thoughtful, even if it is is an attempt to gain referrals. As long as you were happy with their service!
I did think it was cute that the tux shop guy sent us a "Congratulations" note right after my hubs went to the shop to go try out tuxes, and then put down a $5 commitment deposit. I thought it was more cute b/c he addressed it to us BOTH instead of just my guy...who went by himself and the best man. I was completely uninvolved.
We received a handwritten note from our musician, just saying that she played at our venue again for another wedding and thought of us. We thought it was extremely sweet. If I was particularly close to a client, I would probably send an anniversary card too. I can see that some would do it purely for marketing/advertising reasons, but some people are genuine.

If someone who worked at your wedding sent you a one-year anniversary card, would you think that was creepy or thoughtful?
